I commissioned @zu-art some SNS fanart back in March and it still gives me a shot of serotonin everytime I see it.
Naruto and Sasuke have a time out where they are just standing and talking and not doing anything physical. Sasuke has two tomoe so far. Sasuke asks Naruto why he is doing all this.
Naruto tells his reason, and Kishimoto gives the readers a peek to the past. A moment that was meaningful for both boys. Sasuke is shook and then closes his eyes in thought.
Sasuke awakens his third tomoe, due to the emotional turmoil Naruto’s words have caused, and because of the grief of realising he has to break his bond with Naruto for good.
This is basic visual storytelling. I can’t even process how anyone could bring up a headcanon on how “Sasuke was exhausted, that’s why he awakened the third tomoe, it has nothing to do with emotion” in order to brush away how important Naruto is to Sasuke. All this because Sasuke’s eyes never reacted to Sakura…
Kishimoto would roll his eyes if he knew how some people read his manga. Not even mentioning how Sasuke was trying to get the mangekyo sharingan by killing Naruto, because the trauma and grief due to it would give it to him. In the end he couldn’t do it, but he did get MS when he found out the tragic truth about his clan.
WHY HINATA IS NOT A GOOD CHARACTER
INTRODUCTION
I wanted to take a deeper look at Hinata’s character, considering there are a lot of claims about her out there, that she’s strong, that she’s kind, that she’s complex and relatable, that she’s the perfect woman and that she’s at least better than Sakura. I don’t really think so, and I’ll explain why. I’ll be focusing on canon, so no fillers or novels will be included in this post. I’ll say this as a warning, if you’re a fan of her character this probably won’t be something you’ll like. This will be tagged with the anti tags and put under read more so please do not complain if tumblr somehow puts this in the normal tags, it is not intentional. Also Sakura stans please don’t write lengthy comments about Sakura under this, I’m not a fan of her either and I’ll write about her later. Make your own post instead.
DISSECTING SAKURA - WHY IS SHE SO TERRIBLE?

I promised to write a post about Sakura’s character long time ago so here’s that now. If you want to read my Hinata post it’s here.
Sakura is a character that is very hated in the Naruto fandom. Many people acknowledge she’s one of the worst female characters in anime. And yet, she also has many dedicated stans that defend her character and insist she is simply misunderstood, that she’s actually a good shinobi and a person, or not as bad as people think. While there are many videos and essays about Sakura, my issue with them is that they often either praise Hinata who isn’t any better than Sakura or they do not acknowledge Sakura is supposed to be the way she is. She is intentionally written as an unlikeable person and she was never supposed to be inspiring or a positive character. I will try to explain this to you the best I can by dissecting her character. As usual, if you’re a fan of her character you might not want to see what’s next. This will be tagged under the anti tags so if you see it in the character tag that is not intentional.

It's so intense, he deliberately pauses his words ("my one and only") as he looks into those blue eyes, then adds 'friend' to the sentence in an aggressive tone. And that word 'friend ' was completely separated in the next panel.
The typeface used in each panel is different and that's how it's usually used, thus it describes the situations.
Raw: その唯一がオレだからよ
Romaji: sono yuitsu ga oredakarayo
Literal: Because I'm your one and only.
Here Naruto completely cuts 'friend' out of the sentence, as he stares at Sasuke intently and says 'I'm your one and only'. [The Look on Naruto's Face when he saying this. Just look at it!!]
And Other translation be like 'oops! They are so gay, you better add friend or something to it'
