the thing abt gomens book fandom is that, like, shitscripts and leaks and lost rare editions and lightly dunking on authors whose work you love was all part and parcel to the enjoyment of this little niche 90's cult classic. like my copy of the book has a little forward in it talking abt weird gomens copies people brought for neil and terry to sign; it all like, builds up the mythology around the book, if that statement makes any sense at all; the feeling that this odd little story from 1990 inspires so much weird-- and sometimes slightly illegal in the most harmless way-- fun. and it's interesting to compare that environment to the fandom surrounding an expensive amazon prime series that the showrunner actively takes part in, where the idea of people privately sharing two officially-released frames that nobody even noticed for 3 days makes people angry on behalf of amazon and on behalf of neil. idk what the point of this post is. idk woah rlly makes u think dunnit

now, anthony j. crowley is probably my favorite character of all time. i read the book the summer before i started high school, good omens was my lowkey backup fandom for years, and i was there to celebrate when the tv show dropped

so believe me when i say that demon is not catholic, he's jewish as fuck. not to give credence to the word of the author but even neil gaiman has said he thinks of crowley as "the most jewish character i've ever written"

so, my friends, if you love me and you truly consider yourself a fan of crowley's character, you'll vote for the anime lesbian she seems cool and from the tags i'm seeing she's catholic as hell. thank you.

Considering there is an active writers strike that Neil Gaiman is a vocal supporter of and a very similar thing happened previously with another creator who wasn’t exactly “behaving” per the network’s standards, I doubt that this was an honest mistake.

I mean absolutely no hate to you at all because I know your concern comes from a place of love and dedication but my guy I can absolutely assure you there is no grand conspiracy at play here, this was purely mindless incompetency engineered by some poor bastard in marketing with capcut on their phone who was told to make a promotional video for pride month. this has not been done to undermine neil or anyone else, if there's any level of actual intent behind this I'd argue it was to BUILD HYPE for the season, not undercut its success. think about how many more people are gonna be drawn in now they know about what was in that leak. also the video was up for THREE DAYS before anyone even noticed this. if this is the work of some evil exec who wants to Personally Destroy Neil Gaiman's Career they did a very poor job lol. the show will be fine. neil gaiman will be fine. this is why spoiler culture has rotted people's brains and I will ALWAYS be pro seeking+sharing spoilers at your own discretion because look how much carnage has been caused by the idea that some rando including two frames in a promotional video was done to purposely hurt everyone involved in the show. this is literally just a matter of blocking the tags if you don't wanna see it and nothing more. i'm begging y'all to take a breath and think about this logically before you start some kind of witch hunt over TWO FRAMES of a kiss

of course I totally understand why you and others might jump to that conclusion! it's always a good thing to be vigilant about corporate meddling especially when it's a company as huge and powerful as amazon but in this particular situation it really does read like pure incompetence than anything else. for every corporate executive conspiracy there's at least 100 underpaid interns making silly little mistakes whilst they try to make ends meet. what's done is done anyways the most y'all can do now is refuse to engage if that's what you think is right. there's still 6 hours of unspoiled content to look forward to. this isn't the end of the world for anyone and especially not neil gaiman
