Your advice to the attic room person was awesome!! Can i ask you your advice on utilizing the space in a super small bedroom without making it look crowded/even smaller? My apartment next year's bedroom is like the size of a bathroom and idk what to do haha

I love this question! I was just thinking about doing an inspiration post for small bedrooms because I think they’re so cute and cozy, and I was just reading a home decor blog where the blogger was saying she prefers tiny bedrooms because they’re cozier.

  • First, I think utilizing vertical space is super important! Hanging things high up and accentuating the ceiling can make a room look bigger.
  • Picking a rug w/ vertical lines to extend space that’s the right size and laying it out properly (this diagram is a lifesaver) can make your space look intentional and not cut it off in a weird spot.
  • Using multipurpose furniture pieces is super important! I hate single use kitchen appliances and it extends to furniture too. Get a bed frame with storage, or something like this cool/weird bookcase that turns into a desk.
  • Hang things on the walls! Not everything has to take up floor space.
  • Hide storage in pretty furniture! I have an antique hope chest that doubles as a coffee table, but it’s also used for memento storage. this super cool white trunk could be storage and a coffee table!!
  • Keep your colors bright! White bedding makes a space look so much bigger. I just bought this and I love it.
  • Embrace minimalism! I just did a big minimalism challenge and it changed my life, not being hyperbolic. Live with less!
  • Mirrors make a place look so much bigger! I like one hanging on the back of a door or leaning up against a wall. this one is cool because it has legs, so it also helps with the vertical space thing i was talking about earlier.
  • UNDER BED STORAGE. These bins are life savers, or get a bed with built in storage like I mentioned above.
