im so obsessed with how much your art loves 'experience'. like the wrinkles, the scars, the fine trim of stubble...i don't mean to demean the anime/genshin impact aesthetic at all of course, but i love seeing humans in art who arent all smooth skinned and perfect.

also you made me see the light when it comes to drawing male characters with beards. once you try it you can't go back!!

Thank You!

Not gonna lie, this might be my favorite thing to do, adding little scratches, traces of time, signs of use, scars relevant to the story even if that story is only in my head, little pieces of gathered experience that may be unfolded into a bigger narrative if someone wants to etc etc... both on characters and on items. Very glad to hear You find it interesting.

And yeah, beards ftw, I'm not sure i can do smooth anymore haha.

cheers and love <3

I’ve made this one on Twittor and ended up with a playlist full of new awesome songs, so now I’m gonna be like: hey tumbler how about?

I’m always up for some new music discoveries and i fell into this Spootify algorithm loop where it keeps recommending me songs from my own playlists over and over again so time for some new discoveries maybe? C8

Omgyouguys I’m actually hyperventilating a bit (like: a lot), these are so good already T_T

I’m adding them all >>here here<< if You wanna check it out :)

hi there!! I’m a bit too awkward to not send this as an anon, but I just wanted to say you’ve been a massive artistic inspiration for me since 2016! I found you when I was still trying to find my own art style in high school, and seeing your art for dishonoured at the time changed my brain chemistry in a permanent way.

I’d love to commission you one day for a tattoo design! I know your comms are closed at the moment and this is zero pressure to open it any time soon - I just wanted to express how much I love and appreciate your art!

Thank You so much for the kind words, Anon <3 that's very nice (and tbh quite touching too T_T) to hear... thanks for writing this <3

And yes, for now no comms for sure for a while, but it is always awesome to hear people expressing interest <3

Thank You again and have a great day <3

Koooks, I used to share a server with you from the good ol' dishonored days. I don't think we ever talked much, but it was still cool to have you. Anyway, I was flipping through the coloring books at a bookstore yesterday and saw an art style that I recognized *immediately.* Absolutely lost my shit at checking out the credits and seeing that it really was you! Made my day and I had to buy the book

I didn't know you well enough to say that I knew you, but it still makes me proud to see how far you've come and how far you'll go

Ha!

Thank You, that's super nice to read, and thanks for the kind words <3 It feels very cool to hear You recognized the drawing style :))) And thank You for taking time to write this message :D

Ngl Dishonored days may still be my fav fandom period and one of biggest creative kicks i had, what a time.

(I may actually still be on that server, lol)

Have a great day <3

Hi Kooks! Would u consider making a patreon with progress vids and such? Also will you be adding more of ur work to redbubble? thx

Hello,

I don't think so about the Patreon, not in the nearest future at least, I was considering it at some point, but now with two regular jobs and freelance work on top of that i think I don't have batteries left to tend to it. I was thinking of setting it up when (if) i will sit to (finally) work on some bigger project like an art book or something, but still have to get there.

and yes, Redbubble, i guess i should update it, it's been 84 years XD

Hello there. I love your art and done so for years, but I have this (perhaps odd) question (I have often wanted to ask, but have been afraid to). I have noticed you do day later-reblogs. Is there any practical need for it - some secret Tumblr mechanic or it is just something you do out of habit ?

Avatar

Hello, thank you for the kind words! :)

It's not any secret mechanic, no, I reblog the new art once or twice over the upcoming days for more people to see it.

Just, you know, simple human "I've made a thing, look at my thing that I've made".

Painted a bunch of little skulls for the Planescape: Adventures in Multiverse book, including my beloved childhood friend Morte and this funky guy all covered in stickers :)

Please notice little Mahadi, the Cassalanters' crest and Barovia postcards I allowed myself to slap on him :)

Plus the rest of the mimirs.

((a 1999 young me, playing Torment for the billionth time, would lose their mind if they knew they will paint a Morte for his official in-book stat block one day. Having feelings about it a bit ngl lol))

Hey Kooks! What's your favorite video game? And how is your Baldur's Gate gameplay going?

Hello, Anon :)

Top five favorite video games would probably be (in no particular order):

  • Planescape: Torment
  • Disco Elysium
  • Pathologic 2
  • Fallout 2
  • Dishonored 2

In recent years I also super enjoyed Dredge, Inscryption, Darkwood, The Darkest Dungeon, Return of the Obra Dinn, The Talos Principle, The Night in the Woods, Kentucky Route Zero, Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Loop Hero...

Love me some Stardew Valley or Kingdom Two Crowns from time to time too.

And as for Baldur's Gate 3: I am currently super slowly going through good Durge Tactician run with my boy Vic.

Super slowly because the school year is back in full spin so i have little time to play. I'm a bit disappointed with the Tactician difficulty, I expected it to be more challenging, but otherwise it's a pleasure to play, as always. Just finished the first map and paused on my way to the creche, when Astarion finally decided to bite Vic (took him a long time to get there this game). Vic failed all his saves and died, but we got resurrected and got to punch the thirsty vampire without losing any approval so now we're good :)
