Sins of Sinister Review & Analysis: Storm edition
Background: Sinister compromised the resurrection protocols from the very beginning by placing his DNA in each resurrected mutant. However, this was immediately reversed because Hope's mutant ability to manipulate mutant powers, and x-genes, erased the Sinister factor from each mutant's DNA upon resurrection. So, naturally, Sinister killed Hope and the Quiet Council and turned them into his Sinister agents, then offered ressurection to humans, and eventually dominated the world in secret.
Insert Storm. Storm refused to die back in Giant-Size X-men: Storm, out of principal. Storm was worshipped as a goddess of life, and vowed to never take life as part of her spiritual belief system and intimate connection to the thread of life as she is connected to nature. She believed even with guaranteed immortality, that life should not be taken without a struggle, especially her own. She revered all life.
Fast forward, she also deleted herself from the resurrection protocols as a matter of principle and dedication to her mission of a mutant coalition on Arrako. The philosophy is how can anyone truly defend and fight when they're life isn't at stake. As a result Storm was not infected with Sinister factor, and she suspected Krakoa leadership was compromised and would tamper with her will. As shown above, she made a failsafe. Upon her verbal command she and everyone connected to her mind would be flooded with the awareness of Lactuca who has a spatial awareness of EVERYTHING.
The psychic backlash and Storm's raw power burst wiped out the Sinister Council and she left Krakoa. After landing in Peru she's greeted by Destiny and Mystique who left upon the death of Hope before her Sinister resurrection. Sinister nuked Mars in an attempt to eliminate Storm by disrupting its core years later but Storm is alive and a wanted woman.
This is the birth of Storm and the Brotherhood of Mutants miniseries that will detail her war with Sinister across time and space. It's also worth noting it is most likely Storm and Destiny who confiscated Sinister's Moira duplicates to take away his chance of escaping this reality. It seems the fate of reality rests on the shoulders of Ororo.
