Some people don’t realise that, though the Weaslys didn’t mind blood status, they did magic. Mrs Weaslys cousin(?) was a squib they don’t talk about, and Mr Weasly kinda treated muggles like animals, only there for wizards amusement.
so true! I just love the Weasley family, but I have always thought that their attitude towards muggles and squibs could (and should) improve. not supporting genocide clearly doesn’t equal considering them actual human beings with the same rights as wizards and witches.
Harry can’t tell the difference between his potions’ pot and his bestfriend…they’re both cauldron

Something that I really wish had been commented more upon in the books is the geographical boundaries of the Wizarding World, as they are clearly very different from the Muggle World. Neville says his Mimbulus Mimbletonia came from Assyria, a kingdom that hasn’t existed for over 2500 years! I wonder what other kingdoms and empires and regions still exist in the Wizarding World (and by extension, which modern day countries are different or non-existent).
oh yes, absolutely, it’d be lovely to know that! also, transylvania has its own quidditch team, how cool is that?! :D
I always felt peeved throughout the series about how Voldemort was such a huge threat but didn’t warrant the intervention or even interest of other wizarding countries outside of the main wizarding Britain. You think the rest of the international wizarding powers would be involved in stopping such a threat, rather than let it continue to grow in power thanks to an incompetent British government.
According to my history teacher something similar happened in ww2 when nazis were killing off the jewish in Germany, and the rest of the world did nothing (at least for a while) because they simply couldnt believe that such a thing can happen in the 20th century, so they thought it was a lie.
