In case anyone isn't aware, connections like that are literally called 'illegal' techniques in LEGO parlance.

- this had an industry-wide impact, and media orgs, from established news, to humor websites, to smaller creators, fire writers and those primarily focused on print, and direct resources to their video creation efforts.
- around 2016, it’s revealed that facebook completely fabricated their original numbers, likely inflating them between 150-900%. additionally, their viewership metric considered 3 seconds of a person watching to be a ‘view’ (whereas youtube had a 30 second requirement for the same metric).
-Having totally restructured in order to pivot to facebook video, many media orgs were unable to recapture hard won (and and sometimes decades old) audiences. College Humor, Funny or Die, MTV News, Vice, Mic, and Vox were among those that were seriously impacted.

I was on facebook during this time and the weirdest part of it was that meme pages started posting memes as videos of static images with little floaty sparkles and patterns drifting around. I think it was because the algorithm favored videos so much, but idk.

Yep. Pretty much Exhibit A of how heteronormativity is toxic af.
These men *don't* want a loving relationship with women -- they are incapable of it, because men like this don't even *like* women.
They can't like them, because they don't see women as anything but property, so. Why would you bother to get to know a piece of property enough to 'like' them...right?
Why worry about whether you're at all compatible together, have the same values, work well as a team, are willing to mutually support each other's goals?
Just find a woman, lie to them, pretend you're compatible, until you have her 'tied down'...and be ready to sabotage, gaslight, threaten, coerce, and even force them into staying in the marriage...often, with the active assistance of friends and parents...when things predictably go wrong. (Which is part of why conservatives are going after no fault divorce, btw. They want as few escape exits available for women as possible, now that everyone's trying to figure out how to be less toxic, and how to live better, less traumatized lives.)
A man who gets married isn't truly going to wind up 'curing his loneliness'... unless it's via having an additional in with friends, family, and colleagues to bond over complaining about women and marriage...as well as trading tips for how to lie and pretend better, to maintain a miserable status quo.
That's why there's an end to the 'honeymoon phase' in heteronormative marriages.
The woman wakes up to find that she's married to a lying stranger who has no actual care for any of her wants, needs, or ambitions...hell, someone who actively dismisses and *mocks* those things.
Married to someone who, in fact, makes life more difficult and despairing for her in every possible way.
Meanwhile, he gets upset if she doesn't want to obey him and serve him -- without reciprocation, and often, to her literal detriment -- and smile, and pretend that it's all fine.
Of course the 'magic' is gone, then!
It's a guaranteed outcome for the honeymoon to end.
It's not only *expected* by cishets that marriage will be awful and soul-crushing, it's built into the facade of the institution of marriage.
