I am Currently Occupied with This “Reincarnated to Otome Game Villainess” Stories

Seriously, when the first time I encountered these stories, I started to think, “Wow, these stuffs are amazing. I need more.”

So basically, I found these “I was died by traffic accident and got reincarnated into otome game villainess instead of the heroine of the game I played last night before I died” stories. Truly, these stories had opened my eyes widely that I couldn’t shut my eyes about “Wow, you can’t just see everything with heroine’s innocent eyes, see it with her rival’s sight instead.” In conclusion, these. Are. Good. Read it.

Anyway, because I need more people to also hype along with me what, I want to share these amazing things so that you’ll see how worthy are these for you to binge in.

1. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shite shimatta…

Description:

I recovered my past memories when I was hit on the head by a rock. I am Katarina Claes, the eight year old daughter of the duke. In a feverish nightmare, in which the prince’s fiancee was determined, I have realized that this is the otome game from the previous life. Also, I have turned into the villainess that interfered with the romance of the capture targets… If the heroine got a happy end, I would be exiled, while if she got a bad end, I would be killed by the capture target… I have no happy end!? Why is it only bad!? Somehow I have to avoid the destruction end, and reach old age peacefully!!

Anyway, the description has explained almost the whole summary so I don’t have anything left to explain about the plot itself. I can only tell you that the story holds the plot pretty strong to the otome games itself, as it is the only guidelines for the MC so that she would survive from the ‘bad ending’, or we shall say destruction flag.

This story served in two ways: LN and manga. Manga is the adaption from the LN, of course. I preferably choose the manga, because the manga supports the story with humours we can’t just ignore and the twists are pretty amazing that I often burst out laughing.

Also, this is not that much spoiler, but the salience of this story is that the MC is ULTRA DENSE and really clumsy yet so naive. See the story yourself and you will frustrate so much on how dense the MC is.

Even so, this story is truly awesome. Give it a try.

2. Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami

Description:

Although she had reincarnated as the daughter of a Duke’s house, by the time she regained her memories, the Ending was already here.

“After he cancels my engagement, the story would have me confined to a church. Where can I find my happy ending?”

A woman gets hit by a truck and gets sent to the world of an otome game that she had played earlier that same day. However, instead of reincarnating into the main character and focus of the harem, she is fused into the soul of the game’s antagonist, the protagonist’s rival, and recalled this at the moment she is about to be sentenced to a “bad ending:” isolation in a nunnery.

The beginning of the story almost the same as the previous one. But instead of a teenager, it was an ordinary office lady who got died and reincarnated to, of course, the villainess.

Also, rather than at her early age, she regained her past life memories when she was facing her 'bad ending’, as described in the description. She got her engagement annulled by her own fiance, as her fiance chose the heroine of the game. But instead of getting fully destroyed, she started a whole new life from then.

This manga didn’t have that many humour as the previous one have, even the jokes are really slight. Even so, you can enjoy the story itself without any jokes because the story, I tell you it’s amazing. The story is wholesome for me.

Let’s enjoy the adventures of a really independent and strong woman here!

3. Observation Record of a Self-proclaimed Villainess’ Fiance

Description:

Lady Bertia, who’s become my fiancée, is a bit odd. On our first meeting, she proclaimed herself a villainess noble girl who’s been reincarnated and said that she’s working hard every day to become a splendid flower of evil that’s elegantly put in her place.

I don’t get it.

But she entertains me because I don’t understand.

That’s why I think I’ll observe her for a while.

This is a story of a crown prince who’s so talented and handsome that he’s grown bored of his easy-mode life. A story of this prince observing a self-proclaimed villainess noble girl (who seems perfect at first but is a bit off) who’s become his fiancée as she snatches flags and breaks them into pieces.

The great difference between this story and the others story before is: we don’t see the story from the MC’s POV. Rather, we see it from the fiance’s POV, which I found pretty interesting.

The fiance, is a prince charming with all of his perfection, which you find pretty common in fairytale. His perfection made him got bored quickly, which was why he found his fiancee was really interesting. I mean, who would proclaimed herself as a evil villainess? And who would believe it?

Both the manga and the LN are pretty new, so I don’t have many information about it. Only one thing I can tell you: this is interesting.

One thing I almost failed to tell: the stories are both served in manga and LN, so you can choose either you want to enjoy it in comics or writings.

Anyway, those are the stories I found very very interesting and sorry for the lame review I made

The name of this light novel series is “I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags” (Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei Shite Shimatta or 乙女ゲームの破滅フラグしかない悪役令嬢に転生してしまった)!

I literally can’t say this whole title in 5 seconds without losing my damn breath at the end.

The author of the orginal light novel is Yamaguchi Satoru, and the artist for the light novel is Hidaka Nami.

What’s going on:

My memories of my past life returned when I hit my head on a rock. I am Katarina Claes, the eight-year-old daughter of a Duke. While I was struggling with a high fever, it was decided that I would become a prince’s fiancée. I have now realized that this is the world of an otome game I played in my previous life.

I also realized that I had become the villainous noble girl who got in the way of the protagonist and her capture target… if the protagonist got a good ending, I would be exiled from the country with only the clothes on my back, while in the bad ending, I would be killed by the capture target… where’s my good ending!? Do I only get bad endings!?

I want to overcome all the destruction flags somehow and reach old age!

The Catch:

-Katarina is a weak magic user, and her determination to stay alive is something that brings comedy relief as well as unexpected plot twists as well!

-She is a bit oblivious for a otome game player in her past life.

-The characters are beautifully designed and drawn!

-If you read the manga version (it updates approximately every month), the childhood versions of the characters are so adorable.

-Did I mention I fell in love with the MC (heck I’d like to have a friend like her tbh)

-Ikemen and Bishoujos ;)

-Adorable chibi kids in the manga ver.

I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags…

So for the first time in my life I sat down and willingly read a book. Now it’s a light novel so it’s not that different from the manga that I’ve read but still (It has gotten a manga now as well though). This book has had me obsessively reading it for the past few days, I could not put it down. It had everything that I wanted, an interesting and hilarious female lead, a story that didn’t take itself to seriously (well besides one time), interesting secondary characters, a harem that didn’t feel forced (honestly I would be in it to) and a good and seriously funny story. So now that I feel like I have to sheer it with the world!

This story is your traditional “I died and got sent to a fantasy world” thing, but putts an interesting spin on it.

Our lovely heroine (our should I say villain?) starts the story by falling on her head and thus regaining her memories of her previous life. Duo to her memories all coming back she faints. Before she had her memories she acted as a spoiled noble brat, but when she wakes up it’s like her personality has taken a complete 180.

This is the story of Katarina Claes and how she got reincarnated into a dating sim as the big bad rival for the heroine. Katarina now has to find a way to avoid all of her bad endings and somehow live a good life.

Now lets get into the characters!

Katarina Claes (Bakarina)

Katarina is a bit of a weird girl, even in her previous life she would be considered strange, but now as a daughter of an earl… well she hasn’t gotten less strange.  But due to her utter weirdness she somehow attracts people, those who hated her in the game now adores her, but of course our dense lady Katarina can not understand that.

This young lady is a tomboy who enjoys climbing trees, making toy snakes and maintaining her farm of vegetables in her spear time.

Jared Stuart (third prince)

Remember when I said that Bakarina fell? Well the cause of that is none other then Jared! Or rather it was Katarina who didn’t pay attention to her surroundings due to staring at Jared. Because she fell she got a scar on her forehead and as to apologise for this Jared asks if she’ll be his fiancée.

Jared in game only used Katarina as a shield so that he wouldn’t have to deal with girls proposing to him all the time. This is however not the case with non game Jared as he is absolutely smitten with her.

Keith Claes

Keith is Katarina’s adopted brother, who in game didn’t know her as he locked himself inside his room because of Katarina’s and his mothers absolute hatred for him. But our Katarina does however not feel any hatred for him and makes it so that he would not even consider locking himself inside his room (well besides that one time…).

He is now a complete sisscon, btw if you wonder how he looks grown up check the picture below this.

Mary Hunt

Mary who, in the game had nothing to do with bakarina, is now one of Katarina’s best friends. She is the fiancée of the fourth prince and in the game was completely happy with this, but since Katarina can’t walk past someone without seducing them, it’s quite different in the here.

Mary is head over heels in love with our young lady and is actually one of the more dangerous players in this little harem (along with Keith, Jared and Maria).

Alan Stuart (silver haired guy)

Alan has an inferiority complex with his brother. In the game it was the heroines job to make him understand that he has his good points too, but Katarina kinda did that instead.

Sophia Ascarot

Sophia has been hated due to her albino looks. People fear her because they think she’s cursed. But our dear charmer Bakarina thinks that she is beautiful and therefore tells her that. Sophia falls for her and starts a kind of rivalry (it’s more friendship but, eh) with Mary.

Nicole Ascarot

Nicole is your typical quiet senior. He can not emote at command but Katarina can always find a way to make him smile. He loves his family and considers himself lucky to have them, but most people see him as unlucky due to his sister being so hated.

Maria Campbell

Maria is the actual games protagonist, and as such Katarina’s ultimate enemy, right..? Nope! Not if you’re Bakarina!

Katarina saves Maria over and over again from nobles that look down on her as she is a commoner, and in record time she’s in the harem!

There are more characters in these books that I could talk about, but I feel like this is getting long enough already so let me give you some pros and cons about the books!

Pros:

1. Katarina as a character is so interesting. It’s like you take a normal shoujo protag, throw away all that girly stuff, max out the denseness, max out the kindness, make her a huge dork and make dogs hate her for no reason.

2. The way everyone in the harem all like each other.

3. The way those in the harem joke about themself being in a harem.

4. The way they can talk about being in love with Bakarina in front of her and her not realising at all.

5. Th-they all just love her so much man…

6. How much Jared loves her, like everyone does, but geez what a fucking ship.

7. Katarina’s design. (have you realised that I love her? because DAMN, I’d be in that harem any day)

Cons:

1. Alan isn’t in the book enough, give me more Alan.

2. Sophia isn’t in the book enough, give me more Sophia.

3. Nicole isn’t in the book enough, give me more Nicole.

4. SHE NEVER GOT TO THROW HER SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.That one thing with Rafael, kind really boring.

6. The fact that no one has finished translating it~ So now I have to make this post so that I’ll make more people interested~ So that maybe someone who knows Japanese can actually translate it~

THEORY: Grooming for the Throne

I think it might be good to recognize that the story itself and the novel Athanasia read in her past life are different. Yeah, they have a lot of similarities, but a common thing in these reborn stories is the character’s reliance on everything being by the book, even when they influence major factors or new information that wasn’t in the book is revealed to them. Athy, for example, knew that Diana (her mother) loved her father but thought her father hated Diana and loved Penelope (her father’s former fiance) because of the book(s) she read. Now we see that Claude, her father, actually grew to despise Penelope for her betrayal and loved Diana. Because of this information, readers get a sense that he keeps Penelope’s portrait less as an image reminding him of affection but, rather, as one reminding him of betrayal by those closest. 

Also, if you go back you can see that despite scaring Athanasia in the chapter where she almost drowns (chapter 10, I think), his hand is soaked from pulling her out (she didn’t just swim to shore). He isn’t exactly nice to her throughout her childhood, he even claims to hate her years later, but I think that the drowning thing has a significant influence in their relationship that goes beyond cruelty to a possible teaching moment for Athanasia. 

I have a theory that this Claude has even more differences to his book counterpart than we realize right now. Particularly in regards to his cruelty towards Anathasia. Athanasia, despite everything and the possibility of him killing her at that young age being very real, is the heir apparent. Claude is the current Emporer and he got there by severing the familial bonds (which were weak already). He is scarred by the betrayal of his father, brother, and fiancé. He had to take the throne by force and shut his heart off even more and maybe, to him, that is how he now views life as a royal. In addition to hating her, he still sees her as his child or at least has her recognized as his by members of the palace staff. If she hopes to survive such a role, she needs to realize that no one, not even her own father, is guaranteed to be on her side. So he let’s her almost drown, then plucks her from the water and tells Felix to teach her to swim. 

Is his treatment of her cruel? Yes. But, then again, so is the world that they live in and, for all we know, he could have a reason for acting the way he does beyond just hatred for her. 

Other reasons I think that he might be using cruelty (or at least a lack of kind-phrasing) as a teaching method include:

1. Saying that those teaching her have no etiquette and calling in a tutor for Athanasia, likely because Lilly and the maids have been teaching her a noblemen’s etiquette, which is different from royal etiquette 

2. Only ever refers to Diana as a wench in Athanasia’s presence, and acts like he never loved her mother. He might want her to cut off her emotions as best she can without freezing her heart, particularly if the frozen heart thing is something real in their world and something expected of potentially powerful magicians which Claude is and she, as a member of the royal family, probably is too (which we already know to be the case, but didn’t know when she first started meeting with Claude). 

3. Keeping Athanasia isolated from potential threats, the first of which is firing the maids that lost her during nap time. The staff at that time weren’t paying enough attention to her, which allowed her to roam into another palace across the garden. The firing seems cruel until you realize that an assassin with a lot more to lose than a small girl getting in trouble for sneaking out of bed could have snuck in to kill her in that time. Having Felix, the only one trusted as his guard before running into Athanasia (from what I can tell he was the only one since he’s the only guard seen with the Emporer thus far), act as her guard. Also getting her to avoid making friends with anyone tied to Roger Alpheus, a man Claude has a distaste for probably because he knows how much of a schemer the man is and doesn’t want her being used. 

What I’m trying to say is that potentially, even if he hates Athanasia for being born and “killing” her mother, he doesn’t necessarily want her being used or mistreated the way he was as a child. Maybe because despite his hatred in the beginning (which is probably no longer there), Athy is still his daughter and the daughter of his lover, Diana. 

Just a theory, but who knows?

ok but isolating, sheltering, overprotective parents shouldnt be glorified because they just “love their kids a little too much”. that shit is harmful and damaging. if ur kid has little to no social interaction, rarely gets to go outside on their own, and is severely lacking the independence they deserve at their age, thats bad. that is not a sign of love, its a sign of control
