I keep getting people asking about bowling on this post so I’m just gonna repost this drawing I made on Twitter
How did her grandmother fill 4 vases?
She was a very large woman. Easily 12 feet tall.
then why the heck is her family not tall too?!?!
Pop-pop was very small so it canceled out.
Memes are a form of comedy. And brevity is the soul of wit.
Then again, we should be used to lefties spouting rhetoric in place of comedy by now.
The whole point of a meme is to be funny and easily digestible. If you wanna make a long text post then make a long text post (well I guess you can’t do that if you’re on Twitter, but that’s your fault for being on Twitter)
I don't even remember seeing any left-wing memes with that much text (other than ther one above); if so, the only problem I would've had is it using so many words to not really say anything constructive.
Ok but if you don’t read the leftist memes, you miss out on phrases like “crypto-fascist Stonetoss memes”
I've already made so much of a rant about this before I'm not going to bother to do this again. If you can't make your point simply and briefly, you shouldn't be making memes anyway.
He finally did it, folks. Unless he walks this one back and quick, I think this might be the beginning of the end

Seeing the Skullgirls censorship is really disheartening.
Even worse than the in-game alterations, going into the digital art book and editing concept art is a scummy thing to do.
As an artist, I detest censorship. It’ll never stop. If I don’t stand against it, it’ll come for me too one day.
And it’ll come for what you love too as well. Always remember that.
Cry about it. Paedophiles and nazis can fuck off and die.
I’m both, what are you ON about???

Blizzard Activision after getting away with the sexual assault allegations and tricking their player base into playing a half baked sequel that's never going to be finished
Nobody ever talks about how the Norse did human sacrifice. They just kinda jump over that part. Ignore it, mostly.
They don’t do that for the Aztecs though.
It’s kinda a weird case study I think in how xenophobia and racism shapes the way we talk about things. The Norse and the Aztecs were fairly similar in their violence and their complexity. Both mostly had their stories and practices written down by Catholics after the fact. Both are characterized as generally brutish and war hungry. But we only really focus in on the human sacrifice with the Aztecs.
So look at the whole picture for a minute. The Aztecs had a widely practiced state religion, philosophers, a complex class system. The Norse practiced human sacrifice. My ancestors, the ancient Scandinavians, practiced human sacrifice. There is archeological and textual evidence for this.
It’s kinda stupid to reduce the Aztecs solely down to their intimidation tactics and bloody religious rituals. Those should be part of the conversation, yes, but that’s not all they have to offer. In the same vein, we can’t just gloss over the uncomfortable parts of some older civilizations just because they’re white.
Go read up on the Aztecs a bit outside of their religion. I really like their architecture and weird calendar especially.
No one is ignoring that the Norse did human sacrifice. What a load of rubbish. The reason why historians don’t do a deep dive on Norse human sacrifices like they do with the Aztecs is because we don’t have the information on human sacrifice with the Norse like we do with the Aztecs. The Norse didn’t write their practices down. They didn’t decorate the walls of their places of worship with basically, comics of their religion. Especially their rituals like the Aztecs did. We have no idea how an exact Norse human sacrifice ritual was carried out because that knowledge was lost to the ages.
So much of who the Norse were is unknown because they didn’t leave much behind for us to study. Yes, there are sagas. But day to day commoner diaries? Nope. The Norse religion wasn’t tied to politics like the way the Aztec religion was. It didn’t have a centralized belief system like the Roman Catholic religion has. If anything it was closer to the Shinto religion. You have your main gods. You have your household gods. You can pray at certain places but mostly you prayed at where ever. One town might have one ritual of god worship that was completely different from the next town over.
It was not uniformed like the way the Aztec religion was set up.
So, yes, there was human sacrifice being done in the name of the Norse gods. We know this because outsiders of the Norse told us so. But that’s the extent of that knowledge. We have no idea if this practice was universal among all of the Norse. We have no idea to which gods they did this for. We have no idea what it was done for in the first place. Was it done for a good harvest? Was it done for a good raid? Was it done because the village was dying do to an infection? Who knows. We certainly don’t.
Just about everything you see in pop culture about the Norse religion is made up because, again, we don’t have much to go on.
There is no Norse “bible.”
Meanwhile, the Aztecs, they wrote stuff down. The Spanish, who witnessed these sacrifices, wrote even more down. They weren’t, “Yeah, these guys killed people for their gods. It was gross. Jesus is better. The end,” and called it a day. They made illustrations of the rituals. They backed it up with native narrative notes. They crossed their t’s and dotted their i’s.
That’s why we talk more about human sacrifice in the Aztec religion. We don’t have to fill in the blanks as much. Unlike the Norse religion where it’s almost an entirely blank page.
No no the only reason can be racism, the internet told me that the only reason anything like this could ever happen. Oddly we talk about Vlad Tepes a whole lot, and his atrocities even though he's a white guy so maybe it's not about racism at all and someone is just tying to score points by talking out their own ass.
Honestly, we should all study up on the Aztec and Norse people and culture and be honest why we only know as much as we do about them.
You know that Ada Limón poem where she’s like “i can’t help it i love the way men love”? my dad recently confessed to me that he became a shoemaker because they buried my grandma shoeless
