i don't care about the comfort of people who don't care about my comfort

As a professional intersex trans woman voice over artist let me tell you one thing:

Don't let anyone EVER tell you that you need to change your voice for their comfort, EVER.

What is DEEP, or MANLY, or FEMININE, or ANDROGYNOUS, or HIGH PITCH, or HUSKY, or SOFT, or WHATEVER is very dependent on one person's perspective.

I know cis men with way higher voices than me, I know cis women with way deeper voices than me, I know shorter folks than me with husky gruff voices, I know taller folks than me with spritely soft voices.

All this "YOU GOTTA SOUND A CERTAIN WAY" shit is absolute NONSENSE.

You do what you need for you to feel comfortable, THAT'S IT! If someone pressures you to change your voice for THEIR comfort and you don't give a shit? Toss that person in the TRASH and live your life without their negativity.

Quick reminder that July is disability pride month. Not “gay wrath month”.

When ableism is a massive issue in the queer community and most pride events aren’t accessible maybe y’all should. Idk. Try a bit fucking harder to educate urselves this July.
