I’ve never experienced it either (thank god) but I would still advise my younger followers to be cautious of people like this!
I was in high school at the rise of on-line chatrooms and learned grooming can be subtle, here are some things to watch out for that I don’t see discussed often (remember, you may not know the other person is older than you, and people your own age can groom you toward an abusive relationship too)
Wanting to know where you’re from soon after making first contact. and not accepting a country as an answer. If they push to know what state/province you’re in, they’re trying to see if you’re in driving distance of them or one of thier friends
Asking to see pictures of you, any kind of pictures. They want you to get in the habit of sending them pictures when they ask for them, and they want to praise your pictures so you start looking forward to their praise, and that’s when they start asking for other kinds of pics
Asking about your family a lot and encouraging you to see them as a shoulder to cry on. They’re cataloging the weak spots in your life and grooming you to be dependent on them for emotional support. In a healthy relationship, a friend will ask how you are but will trust you to talk as much or little as you need to. When someone is pushing you to talk more and more about the bad things in your life, even when you say it’s fine or you don’t need to talk, they could have an ulterior motive
If you’re LGBT+ watch out for lines like “it’s normal in our community for older and younger people to get together.” Every non-straight person I know heard that line at least once as a teenager when trying to use the internet to connect with their community. Grooming is represented as a problem between older men and teen girls, and that is the biggest demographic for the problem, but it does happen in other configurations too

My mother is causing problems again. She likes to start arguements and fights and I didn’t have medication for 2 days. Now she’s threatening to kick me out. I’ve had it with her and I feel so trapped I may want to harm myself. She’s screaming and knowing I can’t be under stress, she continues to cause problems with me. She’s saying a lot of hurtful things to me and saying I don’t do anything even though I am working hard every day to make something of myself and pay bills. Right now I am very low on funds and she isn’t helping right now. I wish I could move already...

a lot of cis people will see a canon nb character and say they get to decide their gender.
and you cant do that.. nb people barely get any canon nb rep and even less canon human nb characters. saying you see them as a boy or girl is nbphobic.
using gendered pronouns that the character hasn't been referred to with is nbphobic.
arguing with actual nb people about the character's gender and saying "it's just fiction, so it doesnt matter" is nbphobic
nb people barely get any rep as it is and cis people love to contribute to the erasing of our identities
just use a character's correct pronouns. use people's correct pronouns. stop erasing nb identities

I finished with the words “May history hold you accountable” and walked out of the library and into the night.
A few minutes later, the board announced its decision to rent the publicly funded space to Meghan Murphy, a “gender critical” activist who has stated that trans rights impinge on the rights of women. We—my community of trans and cis allies and I—discovered that the board’s decision had already been made before they even heard anyone speak; they were releasing public statements on Twitter while they sat listening to us and eating their catered Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

vivziepop also defends racists, is extremely transphobic, and ableist. she has “apologized” for everything in the past, but her apology was as shitty as you’d expect it to be, saying "she didn't see the insensitive jokes the two women she drew made on their twitter accounts" despite the fact that she herself called transphobia, fatphobia, and racism an “opinion,” and even goes on to make up excuses for the way she acted.

I discovered something useful today, taking breaks or exercising never helps me but THIS does, sharing to save a life
I just found out that some pro artists that work for companies like Dreamworks etc sometimes hold their pens this or similar way so it gotta work. Recently I spent 5 days on drawing for long periods of time (we talk about min 5 hours in one go to max 12 hours long crunch) and not once did my hand bother me.

So I'm starting over with a new post.
About a month or two ago I made that post when I had absolutely nothing, and through a LOT of peoples kindness, I was able to buy my medicine and get a months worth of cancer treatment done.. but now it is September 1st and here in a couple of days I will be out of my medicine and due for my blood treatment but I once again have no way of paying for it.
My treatment involves draining my blood, because of the Polycythemia Vera, I have too much. I am at a higher risk of a stroke, and with my heart disease ontop of that.. the risk is even higher.
But it costs money, and until I am approved for disability (which I have a working case for) people like you, spreading this post and donating to me.. you are helping me get better!!

If he tries to say that he knows, or tries to stop you in any way, just calmly say, “no, you shouldn’t be embarrassed by this. It’s okay to admit you don’t know how to do something. Next time just ask, sweetie.” And continue in as much inane detail as possible.
If he tries this bullshit again, pat him on the head, and say “good try, but let’s review” and then do it all over again.
