hi we're virtueisdead and we make novels and music and art and shit. we don't do a dni list, literally anybody can hang but that also means we reserve the right to block you for whatever the fuck reason if i feel like it. we'll respect your dni lists though, if i randomly block you it's probably because either you fucking suck or one of us violates your dni list. you can find all our shit on our website here
All those mildly condescending posts about how people need to have physical hobbies where they create things with their hands instead of just doing stuff online or whatever are annoying because they're 100% right. I cannot stress enough that the fastest way to stop caring about ridiculous internet discourse when you're stressed is to do something productive and creative irl that has absolutely nothing to do with fandoms or shipping or whatever.
want to make clear this doesnt even need to be like crafts, or analog stuff at all. i spend a lot of my free time working on my home server which usually implies using the internet (ssh) to send commands to the server. sometimes it does include physically repairing the server i guess. but the point is, do things that arent related to the world wide web and its culture, dont feel ashamed if your hobbies involve computer work!
rather than feeling that "it sucks when horrible people make great things" like exurb1a and alexis marshall (abusers) im now frustrated by not necessarily terrible but generally fucking insufferable people making pretty cool things.
like you see some neat fandom art and then check out the artist's page and they have the worst opinions ever that they put on all on all of their posts so its hard to differentiate the art from artist. pain. everyone should just have the same opinions as me please. thanks
was fully prepared for this to be some hot take or petty shit like "they hate a character i like" and instead got sent into orbit by the impact of the read more button

something about this pic is so funny to me. he looks so despondent
ok i recorded my favorite screensavers in a virtual machine. i hate youtube so it hurts that i had to upload it through there, but the gif version is over a gigabyte in size so it was my only choice. (lol)
anyways the desktop itself looks like this which is awesome
heres a link to the screensavers (definitely an epilepsy warning for a few of these, please be careful)
AWESOME ty for ur work screensaver scholar
hi my blog heres this ask i sent about screensavers ( i sent a different one before i recorded the video announcing i was going to record it. anyways yeah these screensavers fucking rock)
(the lxde gui is so fucking gorgeous btw. i love that it still looks like this today. xp/vista era swagger)
finished across the spiderverse. i kept seeing people say they were super surprised by the latter quarter but like... i dont understand why?? like obviously it was gorgeous and amazing and i have 2 posters in my lap as im writing this but i pretty much called everything that happened ahead of time and i feel like im missing something! what was so surprising? did i like, misinterpret the last quarter??
people really are talking up the new spiderverse as the next best thing since everything everywhere and i think that makes me scared to watch it just like i was with everything everywhere because i know ill love it too much and cant figure out whats the best way to experience it
god i fucking love this fucking website
THIS POOR FUCKING KID PT 2 AAHHHGGH (hes so fucking lucky hes alive)
homosex punk swagger squad, pull up!
currently suffering either some really convincing imposter syndrome or some intense existential dread fueled by sincere inadequacy
it is so endlessly frustrating to me that there is not a single good internet browser. firefox and all popular contemporary forks of it ive found look like total ass and they removed themeing ages ago so you cant even customize it to look better. pale moon still has themeing and thus can look gorgeous but has substantial inherent functionality and security flaws since it is an older fork. chromium browsers are chromium browsers. (the main issue is that you can't change how it looks to make it look good to you if you don't think it looks good, regardless if you jave different aesthetic tastes)
there is no fucking winning. i feel like im completely alone in this struggle.
(if you know some random niche browser that works as good as it looks, please help me for the love of god)
if i ever refer to artistic "talent" i only mean the talent to bring yourself to practice and improve. some people simply will never be able to practice some crafts or see the growth they want. visual art is always a struggle no matter whether youre the greatest artist on the planet or someone who's spent twenty years without once satisfying themself or making a positive impression on others
just finished listening to The Volgun's reading of “L is for Lamentations” and am on the verge of tears. that is straight up one of the saddest post-apocalyptic concepts i have ever heard.
dude survived 4 years as presumably the last person on earth without realizing because his "only friend" was already dead and scheduled thousands of 'daily messages' to be sent in advance...
listening to him breaking into tears as he said "for two years, you had my heart leaping at the sight of a cardboard cut-out. motherfucker." hurt so god damn bad.
phenomenal work by the author and by the volgun in adapting it.
i genuinely do not understand the hatred for djent. like yeah its simple and loud and easy to play but does that make it any less pleasant to the ear? frankly that applies to most complaints about metalcore (and genre mixing for that matter) and the peripheral scene. like, yeah, its simple and easy and poppy and catchy and the mix is airtight, but it just fuckin sounds nice, dude. its not "everything wrong with modern metal" its just popular because most people enjoy it. stick your head out of your ass
