TIMOTHY MY BELOVED 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

[close ups + bonus stuff under the cut]

Listen we got robbed of timothy in rise and imma be honest i just like this dude he's funny

So now i made him a character in rise

Timothy is Aprils Classmate (and Casey jrs) they'll meet after a few months after the kraang incident. Timothy moved to New York for school and is now currently working a part time job to support himself through college (hes parents help him but he also wants to be independent) He's a big guy who's most of the time fumbling through life, he's in the same classes with April and Casey jr.

After meeting April and the others he gets dragged in their shenanigans, he thought jr was a bit weird, then he met Casey (Cassandra) and he thought she was totally weird. He starts experiencing all types of stuff with the mad dogz and he just doesn't question it.

It would also lead him to meet the turtles, first one being Donnie, who immediately becomes fascinated with him, Tim doesn't even question why he looks like that he just says "you're kinda cool"

Donnie would be 17 and Tim would be 17-18 (i just know he'll be as old as Raph)

Bonus doodles

Donnie finds so much comfort in Tims clothes (its cause their big and soft and comfy)

Things TMNT 2012 Robbed Us of That I’m Still Salty About:

I love this series with a passion but they missed some golden opportunities.

  • Karai embracing her new life and real family and becoming the big sister the Turtles never had but so badly needed.
  • April bonding and having team up episodes with the other Turtles besides Donnie. (She got one with Leo, why didn’t she get one also with Raph and Mikey??)
  • Timothy’s return.
  • Fugitoid’s return.
  • Meeting Casey’s dad and little sister and just learning more about his personal life.
  • Slash reuniting with Newtrailzer during the When Worlds Collide special and finally getting his revenge.
  • Shinirai becoming canon.
  • All those villains who were like “ALL BE BAACCKK” but never came back, ending up just being those one episode characters.
  • Mona Lisa with The Mighty Mutanimals.
  • Mona Lisa embracing her new life on Earth.
  • The Turtles teaming up with Alopex when Tiger Claw was planning to resurrect Shredder.
  • Irma.
  • Renet being a more relevant character.
  • Slash with Chompy.
  • Mona Lisa with Chompy, and her and Raph being like a little family with their fire breathing alien turtle baby.
  • All the Turtles having a moment alone with Splinter’s spirit, getting one final piece of advice from their father, NOT JUST LEO!
  • The 2012 Turtles meeting 87 April, Casey, and Splinter during the 80′s crossover eps.
  • More Renetangelo and RaMona moments/screen time but no, let’s give all the attention to the love triangle and the freaking inc3st ship.
  • Karai and the Turtles family hug <3
  • The RaMona babies Brandon and Ciro promised. I know it was just a joke to piss off the Mona Lisa haters, but I wish they actually went through with it in a time travel episode with Renet or something XD

oh how i wished irma was a normal girl who got replaced. the things i wouldve doneeee for her to return and be part of the silly little gang of mutants, humans and half aliens that look like humans

april deserved another friend and it wouldve been heartbreaking to realise she was replaced too late. like all the times she and irma hung out? Real. idc, they were besties and did cool stuff together and then subprime accessed irma’s memories and used them to impersonate her shortly before the invasion

irma was such a fun character and she got thrown away so fast </3

i could just imagine all the new things she’d add if she became part of the team

The development of 2012 Leo is honestly sad cause in truth his development is him losing himself or at least his childhood innocence.

It’s not positive character development for him but not in the means that he becomes a horrible person, no, more that the pressures and high expectations of him being leader slowly starts to get to him and take away his innocent mindset he once had in season 1. He wanted to be leader because he wanted to be just like Captain Ryan, unaware of the responsibilities and trauma that will soon come his way. I guess we could say it’s him rushing to maturity or the harsh reality hitting him because he’s leader.

He becomes some what of a jerk but given his situation, it’s understandable. He has a hard time trusting people (Ex: Slash, Fugitoid, Mona/Sal, Shinigami, Usagi etc) because his goal is to keep his brothers safe which result in him coming off as rude towards those people. Not to mention how he must always have this persona of him being a wise, serious and strong leader his brothers can look up to and trust, to keep the hopes in his team alive.

I always talk about and admire 2012 Raph’s positive character development, how he learns to be more open and not fear his own emotions. For Leo he goes through a negative development, but not in the sense that he becomes worse or a horrible person, but that his life becomes more sad, he has little chances to grow in a positive light, let alone act his age. All his growth/maturity comes from trauma and reality being cruel, he was forced to grow up way too quickly, and it all started when he asked to be leader.

A personal headcanon of mine is that Leo is low empathy.

A friend on discord pointed out how, because of this, it might be why he’s so dedicated to following the morality taught to him by his dad and media like space heroes.

Unlike raph and Donnie, who I headcanon as high empathy, I think Leo struggles to understand morality on his own so he needs it explained to him.

While I don’t think splinter necessarily knew Leo has low empathy, I think he realized Leo struggled with understanding morality so he tried to keep it straightforward for his son.

Unfortunately morality is never straightforward.

So when leo actually went out in the real world and realized his moral system doesn’t always work, it was a lot for him to handle.

Combine that with trauma he develops later on and it’s no wonder why leo seems like he’s “just being a d••k” sometimes and does stuff that sounds heroic on paper but is actually insanely stupid and dangerous.

This also may be partially why his character arc went down further when splinter died, since splinter tried the hardest to work with Leo, causing an incredibly strong attachment that broke Leo when it was severed.

What Leo truly knows about himself is he loves his family, which is why everything he does, from sacrificing himself to mistrusting others to excluding april and Casey, is built around that.

Everything Leo does is to protect his family. And, unlike raph, he doesn’t always realize when he’s hurting them in the process.

I think this could also partially be why Leo gets along best with Mikey.

I also headcanon Mikey as low empathy. So I think Leo gets along best with Mikey since the two can relate to each other better and find each other easier to deal with then their high empathy teammates and brothers.

And it ain’t like Leo doesn’t try. He tries his damndest to be good and right and perfect.

But he also doesn’t understand what’s “wrong” with him. So instead of taking time to learn himself, he represses his “bad side” as much as he can.

Idk if any of this makes sense and this is purely headcanon so feel free to disagree but

In conclusion: this boy needs a f••kin therapist

This!

And the pressure he's under, from Splinter from everyone.

I really love the idea of Casey and April seeing how Leo acts and that he needs help.

Because their outsiders.

They weren't raised by Splinter, weren't raised in this environment.

Casey knows the pressures of being the older sibling and having been a rogue vigilante for years having to figure that path out himself.

April has has to come to terms with a lot, her own nature vs nurture and make her own path.

The two also don't baby Mikey, they look at the group as equals.

And I can imagine Leo not understanding why, because he's the leader.

It's what he was bred and bought up to be, to be perfect, righteous and good.

He sees the world in black and white.

Because that's how Splinter and his shows painted it to be.

While they don't.

They didn't grow up sheltered in a sewer, there both coloured in shades and grey.

The turtles are the same age as them and for all their combat training, they see the world with the innocence of children.

And there's part of them that wants to protect that but know it'll only hurt them more.

Casey lost his childhood innocence when his mother died and he became a vigilante.

April lost her childhood innocence when she got involved with everything.

But to the turtles this is a real life childhood story.

Can just imagine Casey and April understanding Leo and him being confused by them.

Like he does something that goes against his morality and he doesn't know how to cope and they sit him down like "I know, I know"

Because they do.

Not like his brothers who don't understand and neither does Leo.

Because they have.

Idk pushing my Casey and April best friends and gone through hell together stuff but on Leo.

Like my Casey being the one who kills Shredder idea and comforting a grieving Leo.

Casey n April go to a school dance n she forces him to look normal so her dad can take a photo also I snuck jonatello into here because I need to infect this virus to everyone I know

While drawing out the next part I decided to change the design…. I still need to slightly tweak Raph.  Also, I am working on parts that are for far future parts because my brain gives birth to ideas that I actually want to keep.  FT my god awful hand writing (when its not cleaned up and for theres to actually need to read)

I will eventually make a sheet for each character w/ human designs and personal headcannons.
