Got my Amped up Frankie today 💙⚡made some outfit tweaks ofc and took out the rat tail behind Frankie's head that kept the black part in place because it was bothering me.

tbh I should have waited to get Monster Ball Cleo first so Frankie could voltageously serenade their ghoulfriend at the Monster Ball⚡💚

Also I don't want to think about the American girl doll movie after the Barbie movie was so bad. the fact it's actually happening and not just a clickhole article literally sends shivers down my spine

I cannot imagine them doing well tackling the racial dynamics at all and would rather them simply not :(((

But oh well I'm just gonna not give mattel the money or hype of hate watching tbh

I just found out about ravelry recently and I just now recently started using it for myself and found the AG/18 inch doll section and I'm sooo excited about it. I am falling into the ravelry rabbit hole and hoping to start some dolly fiber works projects

My dolly motivation has been lacking recently but finding some really cool patterns has excitedly made me inspired

No Procrastinating November: Day 21 Meet Brittany! (like the spaniel, I'm so punny)

Brittany's head is Pumpkin, Cinderella's dog from the Palace Pets line and her body is an Equestria Girls Rarity. The body is not as articulated as I would've liked (no knee or wrist joints) but I like this body's proportions better with her head than a Monster High body. Her outfit is also Rarity's lol.

Her face is adorable! I just wish I could keep her bangs out of the way...

I didn't want Missy (VIP dog head on knockoff Barbie body) to be lonely so that's how Brittany came about lol.

I think they look cute together:)

perfect company for VIP hybrid!

Very interesting NPR article about the complexities of American Girl Doll culturally. I really appreciate the nuanced look at the more problematic parts of The Brand and culture of people surrounding it. Because believe it or not, what we say and do and create matters and how we build communities and have discussions matters. Source (X)

Kai is my new Girlhood Journeys doll. Her stories take place in the year 1440 in the Yoruba kingdom, which is now known as Nigeria.

I read most of the Girlhood Journeys books as a kid in the 90's and loved them all. I never wanted any of the four dolls all that much, but when I came back to them as an adult I thought they were all so beautiful and special. I'm very pleased to have found my favorite of the four.

I have to sincerely thank @doll-princesse for making an informative post about sticky doll disease, which can affect Kai and other Girlhood Journey dolls. The main symptoms, sticky and shiny-looking vinyl, are a result of the chemicals in the vinyl separating. The toxic gases released during separation can be contagious to other nearby vinyl dolls, causing them to catch sticky doll disease, which is not curable. I remembered that warning when I saw Kai at the doll show, and so I was able to take the time to examine her before I bought her. I would not have bought her if she showed any hint of sticky vinyl. But I'm pleased to say that she is perfect from head to toe, and I have no worries about letting her stand on display with my other dolls.

Kai is 14 inches tall with vinyl arms and legs and a soft body filled with beans. She can't stand on her own, but a stand was included. She has lovely textured hair and painted facial features. I've also really enjoyed re-reading her book.
