genuinely i think the presence of brits and people who learned british english as a second language online has changed how i spell and refer to stuff. like genuinely. i find myself typing "cancelled" and "charity shop" and "labour" and stuff like that.

a note that it isn't a bad thing or anything, and brits and british-as-a-second-language learners are welcome on the internet and in my spaces. i just think it's fascinating how i've kinda picked up ways of typing and talking from the internet, and that includes being a lil british sometimes.

#my ass is midwest american in case youre wondering#and its also not like. consistent? idk#it just happens sometimes and is really interesting#i wonder if any people who study the way humans pick up language would find this interesting or smth or if it's pretty normal#i frequently get errors from google docs being like “your language is set to american english and you just wrote in british.” so idk
