Hey do you mind not posting about Sonic as much? I don’t want to be that guy but it’s a little bit insensitive. We’re mutuals and it’s stated pretty clearly in my carrd that Sonic the Hedgehog is a touchy subject for me, given that I miss my pet hedgehog Sonic every single day of my life. She’s not dead by the way…I’m not traumadumping in your inbox. It’s just that my bitch ex-friend stole her from me as revenge for writing a callout post about them. And like, come on, I can’t believe they expected me NOT to write a callout post after I found out they write Good Omens abortion fanfic. That’s so fucked up. Aziraphale would never be anti-choice. Anyway…please just stop posting about Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m crying just thinking about my sweet angel baby. I’m so upset. I’m gonna go write another callout post to soothe my nerves. FUCK you Hunter

one time in my last job a woman came up to the register explaining that when she bought stuff a day prior the clerk forgot to scan a pair of socks worth less than €2 and it was only right for her to bring it back to the store and pay for it proper. unfortunately my manager was directly next to me at the time and took over the register to handle this serious issue. the receipt she had brought with her said which register performed the previous transaction that forgot the socks and the manager could find out who was running that till on that day. poor dude had a manager yell at him for a half hour about how much of an incompetent fuck up he was, he left the job immediately after but i couldnt tell you if he quit or was fired
i think about this moment a lot. the customer seemed like a sweet woman with only good intentions and when she paid for the socks she had a look on her face that said "i feel good because i did the right thing". and a guy lost his job because of a pair of socks. if shit like this ever happens to you and a clerk forgets to scan an item just think of it as a small blessing or that you had good luck or something. keep it.
Gee, I thought these people were the ones who were like “If you don’t like it, you can just move to a blue state.”
And now they’re mad the guy is doing just that?
You can’t oppress and discriminate against someone then be mad when they take their highly useful skill elsewhere.
His point is basically that he’s going to go where he’s wanted. Guys like Brett realize, as he’s leaving that he’s actually beneficial to the society he’s leaving. If he wasn’t, Bret would be celebrating. This brain drain they’re fretting about is entirely of their own bigoted doing. If they’d thought about retaining great contributors to society instead of culture wars, there’d be no issue.
And the guy still is doing his job, by the way. Saving sick kids.
He just wants to do it in a state that doesn’t hate him and his family.
Here's something that a lot of thin people don't know about being fat: you have to be very careful, these days, what the weight limit on your furniture is. So much is made of particleboard or even cardboard or flimsy plastic, and it may be great for the environment for things to be made of recycled materials, but it can easily leave fat people in the incredibly humiliating situation of breaking a chair by sitting on it, or a table by leaning on it. It also creates an effective "fat tax" on furniture, since the more solid materials tend to cost more.
When I was looking for loft beds to make my apartment effectively larger, the majority of them had a weight limit of 200 pounds, including the weight of the mattress. That puts a weight limit on the person of roughly 150 pounds, and that presumes a light mattress. That's not taking into account blankets, pillows, and stuffies, which can easily rack up a weight of around ten to twenty pounds without much trouble, bringing the safe weight for a person down to roughly 140 to 130 pounds. The ones that held more than that had a steep increase in price, with ones that held 300 pounds costing roughly 600$ more than the 200 pound ones, and the 400 pound ones, which I wanted for tolerances, ran a good 800$ more on average than the ones for 200 pounds.
More generally, solid wood, metal, tempered glass, and thick, durable plastic cost more than particleboard, cardboard, and flimsy plastic. They are also far more likely to be safe for fat people to use.
If you are a thin person and want fat people to be comfortable when visiting you, invest in furniture that is clearly made with sturdy materials. Having to brush off standing the whole visit is embarrassing both for us and, if you are a host who cares about the comfort of guests, for you.
Also if you have like spare chairs for guests, try finding ones without immovable arm rests or no arm rests at all. It happens more at waiting rooms and offices than at people homes but especially thrifted or antique chairs with arm rests can be super uncomfortable or even unusable if they’re not wide enough.
And to plus size people buying furniture, I highly suggest buying their warranty, but read the fine print first and make sure there isn’t some weight limit clause or something. We did for the recliner we bought (which did have a good weight limit but in about a year the board that supported the seat just cracked) and we’re able to use the warranty to just have them come fix it and good for 5 years from purchase
A lot of times you can find the weight limit of furniture in the description or specs of the item! There are also plus sized specific furniture shops where everything will hold 4-500 pounds per person sitting. If you're over 300, I highly recommend it. If you're under 300, I still highly recommend it because they're built better and have higher quality foam and padding.
Behind the scenes of Godzilla (1998)
man why didn’t they just have this guy fight him off. dude’s huge
i wouldn't fight godzilla if i was this dude's size, for roughly the same reason i wouldn't fight a komodo dragon at the size i currently am
Not even to save New York?

I feel like practicing any skill would be way more fun if I could have a lil level increase thing that pops up in front of me every time I do good like in Skyrim
“Push ups increased to level 5”
“Writing dialogue increased to level 37”
“Coping mechanisms (healthy) increased to level 18”
Peeing
Again with this
