I keep seeing people nervously joking about april to september being nothing more than a black space and as someone who has been studying trauma for as long I have— don’t let it be. go back. look at the pictures you took on your phone, read old journal entries, if you don’t have them, use this last bit of summer to document beautiful moments, moments you were proud of, moments that comforted you, and start to build at least the beginnings of a kindhearted story about how you handled the spring and summer of 2020. that simple framework of a story is the scaffolding you’ll use for your future recovery, it is invaluable. let it be a black space if it wants to but scatter a few campfires in there for your own sake.

This is solid advice - depression makes you view life as an empty expanse and ruins your memory. Give yourself tools to argue with it - make sure you know it's a lie. If you let what the depression says be "true" it will only get its claws in deeper.

I am a 23 year old Indian muslim lesbian living with my homophobic and abusive parents. I came out to my parents a couple of months back in July and it has been painful ever since. I made a post about this before but the situation has only gotten worse ever since.

My father has started hitting me physically and my mother just walks out of the room whenever that happens. He keeps blaming me for "being like this" and tells me how I don't deserve to live. I had my laptop taken from me and I have to sneak into their room in the mornings when they are asleep to use my phone. It is currently 9AM and I am shaking in fear of being caught. I cannot call the cops because I live in a homophobic society and they may agree with his actions.

I know that you may not care about a stranger on the Internet at all but I am begging you to help me in any way possible. A reblog works and so does a single cent. I need to leave this place.

My best/favorite teacher would literally take off the points for a question that the majority of the class got wrong from the total on the test and then hold a lesson on the topic because she realized if 90% of her students didn’t know the answer then she hadn’t done a good job teaching it.

I hate it when teachers take pride in having a large percentage of students get bad grades in their classes. It just means that students aren’t learning from you
