I was just wondering, what types of shading colors do you need on a digital drawing? I started using Krita but I was unsure on what color should I use to shade in my artwork, like when you do that and change the opacity?

Honestly it all dependsI usually like to use a dark red or a dark purpleSometimes I’ll use a dark blue but I usually like working with red because it makes the drawing look more “warm” since red is a warmer color

Also: to specify what I mean by “it all depends”Basically it all depends on what kinda lighting you want in your artIf the sun is out then I’d use dark red (or dark purple)If it’s meant to be dark out then I’d use dark blueIf you notice in some cartoons when they want to give the feeling that it’s night out they’ll have everything be in a blue tint including the shadingAnd when you’re shading with a dark purple it can honestly be used for both day and night lighting (in my opinion)

“What brushes should I use in Krita” (answering what you said you forgot to ask on here as well)These are all the brushes I enjoy using

I usually will use the “basic_tip_default” for sketchingthen I use the “ink_gpen_10″ for line art and coloring (sometimes I use the “fill_circle” for coloring instead)You can mess around with these and see which ones you likeor you could mess with brushes that aren’t in my little list and see which ones you enjoy usinghope this helps ^^ and good luck with Krita!
