T4T devil's minion is the funniest idea to me. Cause for Daniel it'd be like a hard won piece of his identity. Hes fought hard to survive as a queer man, hes super stealth, he knows the dangers of living like this and hes fought to hide it as a result. And for Armand? Idk he probably forgets hes trans sometimes

I saw posts in the Iwtv fandom where Armand is referred to as "Armand de Romanus" and that instantly gave me a headache.
Poor guy (whom I dislike, but I also respect) didn't suffer through trauma, cult brainwashing, losing touch with reality, solitude, driving his lover to madness and slowly finding himself again to be called by the name of the asshole who gaslit him!!!
Listen. There's a reason why Anne Rice didn't add anything after "Armand". Unlike Louis and Lestat, his human roots barely mean anything to him now. Unlike Marius, his ethnicity/nationality is irrelevant. Unlike Daniel, Jesse and all the younger vampires brought into the Blood in modern times, Armand doesn't have a last name. He doesn't belong to any traditional family, doesn't have a defined affiliation. He's simply Armand. And that's both a bit sad, but also liberating.
He has had three names that we know of, all of them chosen by other people for him - his parents, his maker, and his cult mentor. Let's not add to that something that maybe doesn't resonate with how Armand perceives himself. I can't say I understand him since it's a been a hot minute since I read the book about him (meaning a fucking decade), but I feel like he's found or crafted his own identity, which he decided to keep naming "Armand". And that's it.
