Her Favourite Worst Nightmare

III - Fugato

In Anne’s experience, Reverend Ward never made a secret of his displeasure. Perhaps it was the key to controlling his Beast; to let his Wrath trickle out slowly rather than damming it until it swells into a drowning flood. I’ll never learn to be so bold, she lamented. The Reverend took another long look at the newcomer over his thick-rimmed glasses before she disappeared down the stairs.

“Astounding, the kind of trash that washes up on our shores,” he muttered, to nods of general agreement from his fellow Sanctified.

Anne found his assessment somewhat harsh – after all, he hadn’t seen what she had – but it made sense to her that a Ventrue of his years would have to be a good judge of character. Besides, deciding who among the Damned to trust was about survival, and survival was more important than tolerance. No doubt she feels the same way about us.

TO THOSE MAKING NATIVE OCS

I see this a lot, no one has actual names, or any reference for names, that are legit Native American, varying among the tribes, for their characters.

Babynames.com and shit like that will give you names made up by white people.

However, I’ve got your solution.

Native-Languages  is a good website to turn to for knowledge on a lot of native things, including native names. If you’re unsure about the names you’ve picked, they even have a list of made up names here!

Please don’t trust names like babynames.com for native names, they’re made up and often quite offensive to the cultures themselves.

Thank you!

Native Languages is a great website. I use it for my fact-checking since it always has reliable links to tribal sites.

So to sum up WotC's latest fuckup concerning their new giant themed book

Back during the creator's summit, WotC said this about LLM images

Now more recently, WotC was caught using blatantly LLM images for their new book, along with some category 10 classical Gygax racism and genocide endorsement

As outraged fans investigated, similarities were noticed between earlier concept art, which WAS done by real artists, and the LLM images

Now April Prime was only credited as a concept artist in the book (and not credited at all in that post), so what happened?

Enter Ilya Shkipin: an NFT shill, LLM enthusiast and overall waste of flesh. Ilya took credit for these LLM images, which as you've probably guessed now, were concept art that he stole from concept artists like April, ran through his plagiarism bots and claimed was his own work.

Now, you would think that WotC would admit their error and drop Ilya for this blatant theft of art and credit

And you'd be wrong

WotC not only refused to name or punish Ilya, but they're continuing to work with him and simply having him redo the LLM images he turned in for future printings of the book.

Sounds horrible enough? Here's the bonus round: CATEGORY 10 CLASSIC GYGAX RACISM AND GENOCIDE ENDORSEMENT

Yes, that is a group of people being referred to as an "infestation" to be exterminated. And you have to make sure you ethically put them all to the sword, lest they rise as an icy mummy called a Frostmourn. If the name Frostmourn sounds familiar, that's because it's one letter off from the World of Warcraft sword: Frostmourne. A difference small enough for ActiBlizzard, one of the few game companies worse than WotC at this point, to turn angry copyright lawyers loose in their direction.

And that about sums the whole clusterfuck up. Remember to drop 5e and pick up a ttrpg that doesn't suck, such as Pathfinder, Savage Worlds or Fate: Core

no amount of bird posts i make can ever capture how truly strange bitterns are

i say this with so much love and adoration in my heart. what the fuck is that

(american, least, great, and yellow bitterns)

Also I apparently doesn't have them posted here, but I still like Thanvi's design. They are a travelling potion seller, including poisons as well if your situation makes them feel like it's a reasonable solution.

I am normal about vampires I am normal about vampires-

I still love these ancient NPCs of my previous homebrew DnD. Archibald the bard and his vampiric lover Mordecai.

Their dynamic is summed up in the right picture perfectly. Intimidating bear who needs his slinky boyfriend to speak up for him.

They're in love your honour.
