This is what russia does. Like an abuser, it deflects blame onto the actual victim. It spouts ridiculous propaganda, repeating it so much with such conviction people begin to doubt or even believe it.
But if you know them at all or how they operate, they're painfully transparent.
Don't give russia any support by entertaining their narratives at all.
Instead, support Ukrainians now with whatever you can give. So many people suffering. In such a massive disaster, we need to help as much as possible.
Just recently they have published Tucker Carson's video on the explosion of Nova Kakhovka dam where he says that its Ukrainians who did it. Pro-russian sources jumped on it saying that because it got so much coverage, views and because it's an American commentator from Fox News, that's completely true.
But in fact it's really funny because the while explanation of why exactly it was Ukraine and not russia is merely there. It's just ridiculously weak. "The flood affects Russia-occupied territories, that's why Russia gets more damage, which means it's Ukraine who did it". And that's it. First of all, people living on the occupied territories are Ukrainians. People suffering from the damage are Ukrainians. They aren't necessarily loyal to russia. Why would russians care about those people? Why would they consider them as their own? Maybe ots not known to a western audience, but russians openly say that Ukrainians deserve death. Yes, even those on the occupied territories. You can simply go to any info source, a Telegram channel for example, be it a military info, political info, or simply people in comments. "Ukrainians should be erased as a nation, as an identity". And I'm telling this as a fucking russian, who is able to go on these sources and read it all. Who fucking lives among these people. Second, russian government issued a law which says that the incidents on hydrotechnical facilities on occupied territories will not be investigated until Jan 1 2028 just on May 30. Doesn't that sound suspicious to you? And third Ukraine was preparing a counter offensive. Explosion of the dam is a serious fucking obstacle in their way.
Returning to the video itself, Carson is openly right wing dude, transphobic and bigoted, using the subject of the dam for the political points about US, saying shit like "They're lying to you about the dam just like they're lying that trans women are women". So, does that even make sense to you? I want to ask tankies that strongly support russia, doesn't this give you any thoughts? You're literally sharing a narrative with an open right winger.
With all due respect, I don't understand why so many Ukrainians and oppositioners from russia, even indigenous ones, cheer so much for RDK.
I mean, these are literally neo-nazis. In 2014 neo-nazi community of russia, russian nationalists divided, some of them fled to Ukraine because they committed crimes in russia and fled persecution.
"But who will fight against patinas regime then?". Right, why don't you tell me, what's the point of fighting putin's regime to change it into a regime of russian neo-nazis? You're telling me that it's worth to give weapons to russian neo-nazis and let them take control over the country?
