Today is not about the douchebag. Today I want to talk about something different. I want to talk a little bit about who Polaris is.

(I’m dedicating this to (Polaris) people from ComicVine such as LordOfAllHumans (and a few others) who say Polaris is not recognizable… sounds funny guys, yes, I know but that’s what the troll said.

So, who’s Polaris? Lorna Dane? Green-hair Mistress of Magnetism? Any relation? Any team affiliations? Any abilities?

Lorna Dane AKA Polaris the green-hair Mistress of Magnetism is an X-Men since day 1. Who also is Magneto’s daughter and has 1 sister, 1 brother, and with 4 cute nephews and nieces. And all have super, cool, awesome powers. Plus they are all mutants (and inhumans).

Is she recognizable? I mean, is that a question to the obvious answer? Check on the images I posted above me and ask yourself if she is. I say FUCK yeah she’s recognizable and very well known. She is the Mistress of Magnetism who can generate magnetic energy pulses, create force fields, manipulate the Earth’s magnetic field, and allow herself to fly. By concentrating, Polaris can perceive the world around her solely as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. She can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings as well (Ain’t this sounds familiar?). She has bright green hair, the first indication of her mutation (which mean……she still a mutant DUH!). 

Briefly in her history, Polaris lost her magnetism power, but gained the ability to absorb negative emotions from the environment and use it as strength, endurance, invulnerability, and the ability to temporarily increase her height and mass.She eventually lost these additional powers and her original magnetic powers returned.

I know this person. He’s a professional troll. They will go around undermining Polaris as if no one knows her. Polaris has been in many affiliations and is the only character by far who has Zillion of costumes. So far she’s been in many interesting stories despite not using her for crappy stories. If you know Magneto I’m sure you know who is his only daughter.

You forgot to mention another team affiliations. One, that I can recall, is a team called “Icemaster’s X-men” from a Annual series. So that would make for #21.

All-New X-Men (2015) #17  Finally the pic we were waiting for. The fight between these two powerful teams. Isn’t it wonderful that we can see in the first IVX issue where the X-men seem to be taking over and it seems like the X-men ain’t taking no crap from the Inhumans. Actually, that’s not really my concern. My concern is this…

Allow me to delineate my thoughts GOD I hate Storm’s costume, UGH. Storm looked like one of those old cheap shiny plastic black and white table cloths. Anyway, I was hoping for Marvel to have Storm facing the Queen, but I guess Marvel ain’t that stupid. How smart and unexpected of Marvel to put 2 weather manipulators in combat. The sister to Queen Medusa, and distant cousin to Black Bolt, Crystal is another prominent Inhuman and princess within their society. You gotta ask yourself “is Crystal blocking Storm’s lightning with fire?” One is a mutant who controls the weather and the other one is an Inhuman who can control all four elements, YIKES. Lightning don’t do a thing to Crystal as she somehow stopped Storms lightening from connecting with Gorgon.

And yes, I see it, I’m not blind, Crystal demolished Storm’s lightning (Just like you see in the first page). Don’t give me that crap of “Crystal did not stop anything from Storm.” because that would make you in denial. I know, I’ve been there myself until Marvel started undermining and segregating Storm. It went to a point where I couldn’t deny everything. I don’t think Storm could’ve gone solo with Crystal when Black Panther (I hate this guy and the day Marvel dragged Storm into his book) interfered or helped Storm in this battle. Crystal went all berserk with her elemental power. She’s creating this massive winds with sands through fire. This is some crazy shit.

Her Terrigen-based powers have given her a WIDE RANGE of abilities. Initially, she had mastery over the four classical elements of Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth, the four elements of nature. Whereas Storm can only manipulate weather, UGH. As time has gone on, she has shown herself to be capable of manipulating the weather in ways similar to the X-Man, Storm. She can also create, and manipulate electricity, in part, due to her ability to manipulate the atoms in the atmosphere, as well as most metals.

She can generate, or even halt, earthquakes. Her geokinetic powers are almost without limit and match one imbued with the Sakarran Old-Power. She possesses strong links to the Earth. Not only our planet, but also the entire universe is formed from material particles in the act of Elements. This is enough to put me in a state of alarm that in this battle we will face for the first time what these Inhumans are really capable of. Specifically Crystal who is close enough to storm due to similar powers. In my mind I’m screaming like “Marvel’s attempts to replace Storm.” Marvel is trying to screw Storm over and making her seem less valuable (and I’m going to pretend that Warbird doesn’t even exist). You have to remember that Storm is being written as incompetent in Extraordinary X-Men so there’s that too.

Edit: Last time I checked, her abilities were still the same except they are now greater. It doesn’t seem Charles Soule nerfed Crystal’s abilities.

I don’t think any of us want to know what it means to be Inhuman. Thanks Crystal, but I’ve seen enough. No need to show off.

Crystal is immune to electricity and has also shown the ability to CONTROL lightning. It seems to me that Crystal could counter most of Storm’s attacks. Well read Galactic Storm Vol.1 and 2 and see how she completely owned in the Kree empire. Don’t get me wrong storm is no push over, but matched with someone who can do everything she can, and then some, the best Storm can hope for is to hold out til help arrives, lol. Anything Storm throws at her she can either re direct or outright negate. Also don’t forget those super powerful force fields she can create. She makes them out of many layers of solidified air (Sue Storm) and the regular EM type ones (Magneto) I’m willing to assume that it is more than within her power to combine the two. A panel posted here it shown Crystal combining 3 out of 4 elements. Wind, fire, sand (earth) and that’s without including the water.

Again, imo she could counter/blunt anything storm can throw. Storm cannot do the same. Crystal just bides her time until she is able to affect Storm’s physiology or hit her with a seismic wave. Storm is still very capable and has better mobility, but Crystal’s versatility is her advantage. I do have respect for Crystal.

Wow, I knew Crystal is powerful but I never imagined that she is that powerful.

She’s also a single mother. That type of power and her unique personal life really makes for an interesting character. Hopefully she is finally gonna get the attention she deserves! Crystal overpowers Storm. Crystal’s refined control of her powers allows her to electrically charge the elements. In the air, this allows her to direct that flow and summon lightning bolts.

Crystal has used her powers to suck the air out of people’s lungs, control a huge statue of Black Bolt as if it were alive (glowing eyes may indicate she can see through its eyes?), filled a room with water so Triton could breathe. She also created an air bubble capable of letting the Inhuman royal family breathe and walk in the vacuum of space. She created a huge serpent of pure fire which she used to subdue Medusa without burning her. She also lifted up a city, mixed water vapor and lava, moved molecules around so electricity wouldn’t hurt her and so much more. C’mon, we are talking about Crystal whose powers are to control the 4 fundamental forces of the universe. In my most personal opinion: Storm won’t stand a chance with Crystal.

I have never seen Crystal creating a “super powerful force fields.” Crystal might be what ever she is but Storm won’t be easy either.

This is what I mean about people denying everything and rather make themselves look stupid in order to pretend they don’t ‘know’ anything. For your information, Crystal can create “super powerful force fields” as we can see in this panel I posted. Deep inside you know Storm doesn’t stand a chance with Crystal.

Discussion of today and since no one post it I will. X-Men ‘92 #10 and the last issue that Marvel is giving us. Not only being disappointed to see this end but how Marvel treated Storm at the very end. Let me post a scan since this can prove my motivation against Marvel. Also, this is Storm-heavy, because I’m a Storm fan. Sorry to anyone disappointed by that.

Still wonder why I have so little faith in Marvel and complain so much about them trying to screw Storm over, especially when they do stuff like this…..

And here I thought Storm was a top notch fighter. I identify so strongly with Storm, like you would not believe. Allow me to highlight something I’ve said briefly before. They are trying to damage the reputation of storm. It was the basis behind my repeated complaints about Marvel undermining and segregating Storm. Out of so many characters in this issue, Storm is the only one who gets beat down badly. Heh, even Polaris ended up being the bad-ass in this issue. You wanna see the next page after Storm got defeated by Domino?

But that’s not it. Marvel was making Polaris such a really bad-ass while undermining Storm.

So who Marvel undermining who? Unlike Wolverine, Polaris or Cyclops, Storm is at great risk of losing her respect. Marvel has so little respect for her that there’s a good chance Marvel would keep putting Storm at the bottom if necessary just to fuck with Fox. Not that in the Fox universe she’s doing any better since she’s treated so poorly in those films. People see her so lowly that they think Storm is not as popular as people from CV, CBR and even here on Tumblr are declaring. I also hate how the drew Storm throughout all the issues.

I repeat… Lorna’s proportions seem perfect and love how Alti Firmansyah drew her hair. But just one look at Storm, she looks like a played-out old hippie with that wild hair. Storm lookalike a hag, period. What Alti was thinking? I don’t know. And yes, I’m so mad for what Marvel has been doing to Storm.

Marvel is giving Storm an incredibly poorly depicted role whereas Lorna seems to be the bad-ass without getting her ass (or any other asses) kicked, Storm gets her ass kicked so easily by Domino, UGH. This is so evident that Marvel is treating all the X-men like crap and putting Storm in the worst line to be treated poorly. I’m trusting the evidence because evidently we have Extraordinary X-Men where Storm is being written as incompetent. The implication here is obvious. Marvel has respect for Havok, Wolverine, Polaris, Emma Frost, etc, but not for Storm. They care so little about Storm and the X-Men right now. All they do care about are the Inhumans since Fox doesn’t own them.

This is why I KNOW, for a fact, that Marvel is trying to undermine and ruin the X-Men franchise (not just Storm). Heh, they already cancelled Fantastic Four and that’s their future plan, to cancel the X-Men as a whole.
