Disappointed to learn that Ark Encounter, the creationist theme park in Kentucky whose primary and by primary I mean only attraction is a replica of Noah's Ark built with public tax incentives & that pitches itself as a field trip destination for public schools, has abandoned their plans to build an "immersive" Plagues of Egypt ride, but delighted to learn the Bible theme park is building a Tower of Babel instead

This wasn't a bit btw. The Ark Encounter creationist theme park is showing their strong commitment to Biblical literalism by building a new Tower of Babel

I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind

One time I was explaining to my dad how unfair it is that every big city has at least a couple gay bars but there are only like 20ish lesbian bars left in the country and he responded with "That's cause gay men have a good party culture. Lesbians don't have time to party, they're too busy debating the sociological implications of things and studying for postgrad degrees" and as much as I wanted to tell him he was out of line for that, as a lesbian who spends all her free time on Tumblr debating sociological implications and messaging other lesbians in discord servers where everyone has a PhD or masters for some reason I felt like I might not be the best person to make that argument
