★kaeya has a sixth sense, (or so he may say), and that sense was that he could tell anytime when your mood was significantly lower than usual.
★the moment he had seen you coming towards him, head down instead of the usual smile he had always seen you with running towards him, he could tell that something had happened
★Kaeya wouldn’t ask, especially not when the moment you had come to him, you started sobbing into his chest. hands gripping onto the back of his shirt, not caring that you were in public.
★the cavalry captain would gently brush his fingers through your hair, looking at you with sympathy. he guides you to sit down on the bench nearby and if you wanted to cry for a while, he had no where else to be.
“that’s it, love,” he’d murmur, rubbing your back as you take a shaky breath, “I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere”
★if you wanted to tell him later, he would listen. but if you would prefer not to talk about it, then he was okay with that too.

A/n: I tried making it a little more spicy but idk if it worked lol, I hope it did.
Sunlight poured through the blinds cascading over his bedroom, one of the beams falling straight on his eyes making him squint. Rolling to his side, he stretched his arm out ready to bring the body next to him flush to his chest, only to be met by cold sheets and an empty spot. Patting around for a little longer he let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair before slowly opening his eyes scanning the room in hopes his lover had just gotten out of bed. The only thing he wanted was to pull her back under the covers, wrap his arms around her middle and smother her with kisses, on her cheeks, her lips, her neck, her chest, anywhere she let him. But alas, luck was not on his side this particular morning as her clothes weren’t where he tossed them aside the night prior and he could hear faint humming coming from somewhere in the house. A smile grazed his lips while he got dressed himself, the soft sound of her voice making him float through the room.
Walking into the small kitchen he found her, back turned to him as she made breakfast for them both her shirt falling off her shoulder leaving her delicate skin exposed to him. On second glance that might not even be her shirt. Her hips swayed gently from side to side as she worked, hair pushed back and away from her eyes, the earring on her right ear glistening in the early morning sun. Slowly he made his way behind her, circling her waist as he left one kiss on her shoulder and then another on the side of her neck feeling her lean back into him, a long sigh escaping her lips as she closed her eyes. He could see a few marks littering her collarbone and atop of her breasts, a sign of last night’s ministrations. Kissing the darkened love bite on her neck he gave the spot a subtle lick before biting on it again softly. A satisfied hum escaped her lips, neck craning to the side to give him more access. He trailed kisses up the column of her throat, stopping momentarily on the sensitive patch of skin right under her ear hearing her whimper and press back into him.
“Goodmorning, my love.” He whispered feeling her shiver at the sound of his voice. It was deep and baritone, filled with remnants of sleep making it more hoarse than usual. He knew what he did to her and he loved seeing her crumble at his touch. Placing her hands over his she turned slightly, making their eyes meet, a smile stretching across her face as she kissed the tip of his nose.
“Goodmorning, to you too.” She kissed his nose again and then his lips, turning around right after and going back to the neglected breakfast. Resting his chin on her shoulder he silently watched her cut all the needed ingredients and get their tea ready, leaving stray kisses on her skin every now and then just to fluster her.
“Are you staying in Liyue today?” He asked, taking the plates from her hands and placing them on the table behind him, guiding her to her usual spot gently by her wrist.
“That’s the plan. Katheryn doesn’t have any commissions for me today and Lumine seems to be doing fine on her own so I’m all yours Mr. Zhongli, sir.” She answered with a cheeky grin on her face, eyes twinkling with mischief and no good intentions. A laugh bubbled from his throat filling the room with its rich tone.
“You know not to call me that whilst wearing something of mine. I may be a god but I have my limits and you, darling, are stepping on a very thin line.” He brought his lips to hers, capturing her response in one swift motion making her whimper instead. He swiped his tongue over her bottom lip, a small request for entrance and before he knew it she was seated in his lap fingers running through his hair, tugging lightly at the brown locks earning her a groan. He squeezed her hips in response bringing her closer to his chest and deepening the kiss feeling her cave into him. Breathless they break apart, eyes dark with lust and desire and love so much love. Kissing her again more slowly this time, he let his forehead rest on hers before bringing her hand up to his lips and kissing her knuckles. “What am I to do with you?”
She giggled at his words kissing him once again, cupping his cheeks and staring at his amber eyes, utter adoration swimming in hers. He was certain that his gaze mirrored hers.
“In sickness and in death, you are stuck with me for the rest of eternity I’m afraid.”
“I could get accustomed to that idea.”

- If you thought sober Zhongli could ramble for hours, just wait until he gets drunk. This man could talk literally all night, telling various stories and facts about history.
- EXTREMELY soft when drunk. Showers you in love and praise, and won’t stop until he’s absolutely sure you know just how much he loves you and how he’s never met anyone like you in all his years.
- Generally prefers to drink with you in private, as he isn’t a fan of people seeing him drunk. Occasionally you can convince him to have a drink while out to eat though, and it never stays just one.

- When Zhongli invited you to the Lantern Rite Festival, you had been ecstatic
- You had only started dating Zhongli a few months ago so this would be one of the first big events you attended together
- Your friends had spent weeks putting together your clothes - a traditional Chinese outfit in Zhongli’s favorite color
- To say he was amazed by your appearance would be an understatement
- You spend the night eating a feast with Childe and Xiao at Wanmin (courtesy of Childe) and playing games and winning prizes
- Zhongli, who surprisingly had mora on him, bought you anything you looked at for more than 5 seconds
- You were having such a good time, so why were you suddenly overcome with anxiety?
Your troubles started towards the end of the night, close to the lantern ceremony. As the people of Liyue started to crowd into the heart of the city, you felt your chest flutter. Zhongli left your side for a few moments to purchase your lanterns and that’s when your breathing started to quicken.
One second, you could see Zhongli talking to a merchant and the next there was a group of teenagers shielding your field of vision. A family nearby began to spread apart from each other and a little girl bumped into your legs, causing you to stumble further into the crowd. Within minutes, your hand was clutching at your chest and beads of sweat were growing on your forehead.
A pain was growing in your chest and while you tried to take deep breaths, it seemed like nothing was calming you down. You frantically looked to your left and then your right but Zhongli was still nowhere to be found.
The people around you were blurring together, becoming motionless blobs in your peripheral vision. You shut your eyes tightly, your nails digging into your arms defensively. You wanted this feeling to stop.
You were only brought back to reality by a sweet, calming voice. Warm hands covered your own, easing the tension. “I’m right here,” Zhongli said to you, his voice just loud enough for you to hear. Slowly, you opened your eyes and were met with his.
Tears welled in your eyes, mostly from the sudden rush of relief, and Zhongli wrapped his arms around your tense body. You felt the lanterns in his hands brush against your back and you buried your face in his chest.
“I didn’t know where you went,” You whispered, “I was all alone.”
“I apologize - it got crowded fast. But I’m here now,” Zhongli’s words were everything you needed to hear. He waited until you fully calmed down before softly taking your hand in his hand and leading you away from the crowd. You found a spot on a nearby hill, right outside of the city. From this area, you were able to overlook the entire festival.
The entire time, Zhongli’s hand never let yours go. His thumb rubbed against yours and when you leaned into his side, he returned the behavior. Frankly, you had never felt so close to someone before - physically and emotionally.
With your free hands, you each took a lantern and when most of the crowd began letting theirs go, you did the same. You each made a silent wish and when both lanterns were in the air, Zhongli lifted your chin towards him and pressed a meaningful and soft kiss to your lips, officially sealing your wishes as your lanterns floated up into the night sky.
