Dating a Nigga from the hood vs. Nigga w/ a hood mentality.

Now first off…both niggas are from the hood, so your probably wondering how there is a difference but trust me there is a difference. Yes I loves me a nigga from the hood, and I will choose a hood nigga everyday all day in anyway over a rich, preppy, prettyboy, skinny-jean-wearing, hipster lookin…anyday. But I hate a nigga with a hood mentality. Let me explain the differences and the ONLY commonality.

Commonality between a nigga from the hood and a nigga w/ a hood mentality:

  • both have a strong survival instinct and an “I don’t give a fuck attitude” (mind you both use these qualities in different ways.)

Differences between a nigga from the hood and a nigga w/ a hood mentality:

  • NFTH: when shit gets rough a NFTH’s survival instinct (and general common sense) is …they get their shit together, get a job and hustle hard (the legal way), work their asses off and provide for their family (they hold their own).
  • NWAHM: when shit gets rough a NWAHM’s survival instinct is …yoo lemme sell some shit to make a quick dollar or hustle some illegal shit where the money ain’t lasting them through the week anyway and risk their life and livelyhood for somee BULLLSHIIETTT, when their dumb-asses coulda went out and GOT A JOB!!! (quick money never lasts that long….hellerr)
  • NFTH: when a NFTH is dating a girl…he doesn’t give fuck about what his friends think…he’s going to show her love in public and behind closed doors.
  • NWAHM: when a NWAHM dates a girl…he’s going to give her that…“you know i’m really feeling you and all this kissing and holding hands shit is cool when we’re in ma crib, but outside I ain’t tryna look like no bitch boy infront of ma friends, ya feel me?” (they don’t give a fuck about your feelings, they just care about how they look to their boys)
  • NFTH: a NFTH has goals and ambitions beyond the hood, and a realistic plan on achieving them. (he also has a back-plan if things fall through)
  • NWAHM: a NWAHM’s idea of ambition is assuming his rap career is gonna pop off so he can buy him and his momma a 20 room mansion and then buy pookie n em’ all range rovers. (there is no back-up, they are banking on this dream)

this is not meant to hurt the feelings of any NWAHM, i’m just callin it like i’ve seen it.
