Threads is the Hot New Garbagedump by Certified Scum Of The Earth and Facebook/Meta owner Zuckerburg. It is like if twitter was even worse.
There is ONLY a For You page, meaning you can never just see the posts from your followed accounts who, yknow, you followed for the purpose of seeing their posts.You can't see those. you have to see the algorithm's posts ONLY. You also require an instagram to get full access to all the features like Posting Images. You need a separate social media account to properly access this new social media. And once you've done so, the only way to delete your Threads account, is to delete you instagram account. The Whole Thing. For Some Fucking Reason. Not to mention, obviously since it's zuckerburg, the thing syphons your personal information like crazy, worse still than twitter.
Like ALL your data. as much as it can get. (Love that it says "Other Data" btw. Nice subtle way of saying "whatever else we want") ALSO wouldn't you know it? It's fucking banned in the EU because it violates a bunch of fucking privacy laws!! So it's DEFINITELY not safe to use!
It is as predatory and exploitative as can be, created by someone that we collectively agreed Sucks Shit and Has No Empathy For Human Life and Individuality, and nobody should be touching it with a ten foot pole let alone sign up for it. Not even to test the waters or because it's where everyone is heading, or to see how bad it is for yourself. It doesn't matter if you're joining to get an account ready in case the platform ends up the new big thing. You're feeding the statistics. Even if you're not using that account, Zuckerburg can show the number of signups to shareholders and investors to prove to them that it's viable. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon in case it succeeds, inform people why they shouldn't join, to reduce its chance of success! It's like strikes and protests; The more of us get the word out, the more effective it'll be!

Writing in General (For those who don’t want to die like Stormtroopers)
- SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
- ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I’ve ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, it gives +20 different in-depth reports for only the first 500 words for free. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn’t mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you’re writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And they just add a new feature, which just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit.
- LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence, even if it doesn’t raise any flags; it’s very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn’t feel quite right.
- Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.
plugging my ears ignoring the “jedi don’t have attachments” part of luke’s ultimatum in boba fett and choosing instead to focus on luke mentioning how grogu’s training will take long enough that din will be dead by the time he’s ready to go out in the world. that wasn’t luke telling grogu he couldn’t be a jedi because of his attachment to din. that was luke, mr “i lost 3 father figures prematurely and saved the galaxy with the power of love for my dad” going “there will be other jedi. you age slowly enough you can complete your training later. there’s only going to be one din djarin.”

People being like "why is Ken just Ken" and thinking it's a gimmick for girl bossing Barbie clearly never watched Barbie Life in the Dream House because if they had they'd know that Ken is a very smart and capable guy but chooses to dedicate his life to Barbie because he loves her. He literally has a sixth sense for if Barbie is unhappy or needs something and will drop everything to help/cheer her up. Ken chooses not to pursue careers like Barbie does because it would interrupt his Barbie time. Ken is a self imposed trophy husband and I won't let people question his decision!

This is absolutely not important, but I admire how every time we get a glimpse of the Forger’s hallway we see *new* - and increasingly real - family pictures.
When the series first started, there was that lone Forger Family portrait where Yor and Anya both look like they need the bathroom.
And then we got the cringe and doctored photos that were part of the lovey-dovey package when Yuri first visits.
After that we see the cringest photos removed - it's now all Family Forger, all the time. But at this point in the story - right after the Doggy Crisis - the photos are still all 'staged'.
But by the time Nightfall visits, we see a new photo of the Forgers, this time, with Bond too! And that does not look like they are in a photo studio. More like Bond trying to take a selfie in a park somewhere. (Yes, if Bond can see the future, he can take selfies.)
When we get a good glimpse of the Forger's hallway again in the manga after Nightfall's visit, when Bond sees a vision of him possibly dying from eating Yor's cooking, there are now more new photos: Bond licking Anya like she's made of peanut butter (she's had so much peanuts that...maybe?), and another of the whole Forger family together, smiling and acting natural.
I hope this becomes a recurring thing in the series - every time we see the top of that cabinet there will be new pictures of the Forger family, until the end of the series when it's just creaking under the weight of all the photos.
Because they are the memories Loid, Yor, Anya and Bond have made together. They are evidence that it happened, and that all of it was real.
