TikTok’s kind of a nightmare for exposure these days. My successful videos are doing as well as my absolutely, catastrophically bad videos did two months ago. Most stuff doesn’t break 1k in the first day.
And I just had a long conversation with a friend of mine about how Tumblr is so fundamentally, catastrophically broken that it’s impossible to sell and monetize it—and that that insulation means it’s not going to go down the road TikTok is going down, that Vine went down, that Gaia Online went down.
Maybe TikTok will be fine. Maybe leadership will realize that listening to the Waltons is a Fucking Bad Idea. And maybe getting on Tumblr again is an absolute waste of time.
But I need a dark mirror to gaze into and TikTok ain’t reflecting right now.
