"Demeter Enraged"

Digital

11" x 17"

A sharp pain seized Demeter’s heart,

and she tore the headband out of her flowing, divine hair,

And threw a dark cloak over her shoulders.

Like a bird of prey she sped,

Over solid earth and fluid sea,

Searching.

This is one of the most adorable Pride posts I’ve ever seen

What I love about the imagery of the turtle is that it’s sending the message that they are protecting themselves by being in their shell. It’s not about deceiving straight people (like we are often told), but about the turtle’s own safety. They’ll come out when the time is right and they feel comfortable. 💕🏳️‍🌈

somebody: do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong generation? I mean I was definitely supposed to live in the 80s I love 80s music and Reaganomics and ignoring the human rights violations and CIA backed coups

me, thinking about the 25,000 year old mammoth bone hut as always, stopped listening after the first sentence: yeah I was definitely born at the wrong time….

Possibly out of date but I saw you'd sunburned your tits and oh god I'm so so sorry, bodice burns are the WORST. Hope it heals fast.

Nope, that was today. And it hurts very much. Thank you for the good wishes! I am now going to resume soaking my tits in cold black tea. The tannins help reduce the pain, or something. idk. I just know it works.

Aloe Vera gel! Also: straight up burn treatment spray. That shit also comes with anaesthetic for the pain. Legit treat it like a regular burn. So yeah, cold tea would probably work at least as well as water

I use aloe vera when I can. Weird allergy body doesn't always tolerate it. Can't use burn spray. I'm allergic to the analgesics. This is why I use cold tea because, as I noted, the tannins can help remove some of the inflammation better than plain water. Just not as good as actual burn medicine, sadly.

Trust me, if I could use actual products, I would be. I'm not a crunchy hippy by choice.

I find hyaluronic acid to be very helpful, since I'm allergic to aloe. Avoiding air on the skin will help, so keeping it moist and covered by a film/thick cream will also help it not feel so sensitive.

I also used soothe spray, which worked but it's lidocaine based so not for everyone.

also please note that this scientist is in fact the retired man who invented the xbox.

oh fuck i listened to a podcast that was interviewing him and the process he went through to make this bread, ologies with allie ward like he went through full on clean room levels of prep to ensure that this was 100% yeast from old egypt and had to bend over backwards to ensure everything involved was uncontaminated he then revealed that the original xbox logo...

is a sourdough boule
