***This is a short story that I promised an instagram user @joli.adrien to make based off this beautiful fanart. Hope you guys like it XD***
How did we get here? Why did Marine kiss me? Maybe he got moved by the things I told him. Well, I didn’t tell him anything far from the truth. He really is a good person. He’s helped all of us in our time of need. Marine is our daily Lady Beetle. From the moment I met him, I knew he was different. I just, didn’t think we’d reached up to this point of trust.
He pulls away and says, “Thanks Adrienne.” I smile.
Then I say, “You’re welcome, Marine.” I wave my dear friend good bye and Plagg immediately starts accusing me of liking him.
“Geez Adrienne. You’re blinder than a bat if you can’t see that he likes you. Clearly he’s got a thing for you.”
“No, Plagg. He was clearly really touched by what I said, “ I replied. “Besides, I’m not cute enough for him to be all over me like that. He’s too kind.” I smiled.
The truth was, I enjoyed that surprise, a lot. I was not expecting him to just show affection like that. I didn’t know what to make of it, to tell the truth. I already had a hard time just keeping my sight on Lady Beetle. It didn’t help that Marine looked like a whole kpop idol. And it was sinful of me to think of things that were outside the friend zone concerning Marine since I already professed love to someone who I trusted with my life. But I couldn’t help feeling warm inside.
“You know what Plagg? Kagari was right,” I said. “It’s about time I switched targets.”
“Oh really?,” Plagg replied sarcastically.
“Yeah, I’m serious this time. Lady Beetle is loyal to whoever the person he loves is, and I’ll never be a match for that person. And here’s this sweet guy who is very good looking and admirable who seems to like me that I haven’t paid attention to. So yes Plagg, I’ve been blind this whole time so it’s about time to start hitting real targets.”
Plagg just looked in amazement at my response.
“Well,” he said. “You’ve certainly grown up kid.”
And with that we walked away and headed to the Gorille’s car.
