white people don’t understand the concept of picking your battles they’re always like ‘confront your parents’ ‘live your truth’ ‘just say no’ nah sometimes lying and secrets is genuinely the better option. it’s not always safe or beneficial to be direct with extremely cultural and/or religious parents who are so deeply ingrained in their belief system that they cannot be reasoned with and will never change, the risk is so much higher than the reward and it’s easier to just work with what you’ve got
i just want to be a cat in late spring. because then i could just sit in the sun and blink slowly and maybe chase a bug. i think that’s what we all want
