fans were the ones applying that public pressure.../ Seriously the fans have become veryyyy comfortable blaming the media but the fans are who make her look bad a lot of the time (Red TV release week with the relentless scarf jokes and commenting on Jake’s insta is a prime example) and the media feeds off of the stuff that gets discussed and theorized here. The media landscape has changed and the fandom isn’t a niche corner of the internet anymore.

omfg i've been saying/thinking this too!! i think fans have a mindset that whenever taylor complains or makes a joke about something she hates people do in relation to her (her hating seeing slideshows of her exes, to stop speculating on her personal life, saying writing personal songs felt like 'loading a canon of clickbait' or 'a public autopsy of her personal life'), fans think 'omg yeah the media sucks, we love you taylor!' when like.... fans are media now. they are the problem. fan are the ones in charge of what gets written about on outlets, the 'traditional media' they are blaming is just following their lead now, the roles have reverse from what they were like 10 years ago. the media isnt feeding the people, people are feeding the media.

so when taylor is talking about seeing those 'slideshows' or people speculating on her personal life, she's not complaining about like entertainment tonight or e! news. they arent in charge anymore. she's complaining about the tiktoks she sees analyzing her songs but only in the context of which ex it could be about. i see slideshows everyday with her and an ex posted on tiktok. it's wild how unselfaware people can be about them being the problem.

i am very sad about this, and hope it’s not true. I just want her to be happy and can’t imagine what it’s been like for her if this is true. I really just want her to be okay 😞
