So apparently in the Pixar canon, Remember Me was released in 1942, meaning that if all of the Pixar movies are connected like in the theory, this song would at least be recognizable to the characters in the Incredibles (set in 1962-3). I have no idea what to do with this information.

But y’all know I’m gonna use it.

It was common (and I’m sure still is) for white artists to rip off songs from poc and claim them as their own. ‘Remember Me’ would be a popular song in the US but the cover would probably be from some white singer like Frank Sinatra who would make the song slower and jazzier to appeal more the American listener. Almost no one would know they stole it from Ernesto de la Cruz who stole it from Héctor Rivera.
