@trolliz

A Swedish peep with and off-centre triangle to spite a friend :]

Oh wow it’s Sweden being Sweden like usual.

None taken, we’re either die hard about it or tired. Mostly tired.

Like come on, I just want Fuldans (ugly dance) back. It didn’t win but it burrows deeper into my heart every passing year.

Yeah, Loreen won, hurray for us. However, we didn't deserve that. Käärijä did, that much is obvious here too.

It's incredibly bittersweet and I can't say I'm too happy with how Eurovision turned out this year.

Normalize blocking people for making you uncomfy ❤

Normalize restricting people on Instagram for being weird ❤

normalize throwing tea into the harbor ❤️

IM SO SORRY I DIDNT REALIZE WHO MADE THE POST IM SO SORRY

Aye do nae apologize for speakin yer truth lad. Into the harbor a go 🫡

I think now is a good time to remind people of The Internet Archive which has a metric shit ton of shows and movies for free and won't give your computer any viruses cause it's not a pirate website.

Or Tubi, which has a metric shit ton of stuff free with ads, and you don't even have to make an account or download the app. Same with Pluto, although Pluto is pretty slow.

Even YouTube has a lot of free stuff, and I don't just mean the official YouTube movie channel. I mean, there's a bunch of channels that upload movies you can watch without having to click a link to some shady website. YouTube also has a lot of audio book uploads too.

So don't worry about not getting brand new shows because there's so much media out there's that you haven't even consumed yet.

I just wanna say.

I don't know who did the dialogue for the comics but they're pretty good at Intuitively Aussie Things (outside of spelling "cark it" wrong).

The amount of times I've hauled arse while chanting "bugger" under my breath is too goddamn many. I once cleared a click on foot with a 20kg bluey on my back and a rifle in my arms because a VERY angry pig was chasing me (when I got back to Matilda he tried his damnedest to pop one of my tyres but that's beside the point). Screaming "BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER-" while being chased by the wildlife is just part of the bushman experience. I don't care if it's outrunning magpies, outrunning pigs, outrunning a bushfire, outrunning a tornado, outrunning hail big enough to knock you out, outrunning a perentie, staring down dingos, waking up to a venomous snake in your swag, seeing a shark while swimming at a beach, blowing a tyre on a rough bit of track, or wading in waist-deep water and seeing the bubbles of a crocodile submerging a few metres away. If you live in the bush you will chant "bugger" like a prayer at some point in your life.

On that note, if you're ever somewhere and you see an Aussie running away from something while screaming "BUGGER" it's a good idea to trust his gut and follow him because 9/10 times whatever's chasing him will end up chasing you instead. If he's running he's got reason.

Heavy: People call me obese. I kill those people. If you need to refer to my body size, I am “chunky”.
Medic, completely unprompted: I say that there’s just more of him to love!

From the TFConnect 2022 day 1 stream. :D

Just so we're all on the same page with the writer's strike.

If during the strike, it's announced about AI generated shows. We are not watching them. Not even out of curiosity. Let them fail every AI generated show they try make.

The human voice can not be replaced by AI. Don't let them try.

not counting like. english if you live in america/spanish if you live in spain/etc btw

Now I clicked 3 cause I can't for the life of me get my brain to consider English as an extra language. Just cause here in Sweden you start getting, at least the basics, taught to you as soon as you start going to school. I believe we were learning colours and numbers at six.

Other than English and of course Swedish, our schools usually offer 3 additional languages. These being French, Spanish and German. However some schools offer even more languages such as Finnish, as an example. Though that's quite uncommon as far as I'm aware.

Oh and quick note for writers:

One difference between this strike and the last one is that there are a lot more fellowships targeted at early career tv writers than there used to be (there have always been some, but the fellowship model is way more commonplace these days)

Studios are about to make a ton more of these opportunities and advertise them widely as a way to break into the industry, and they will be very specific about the fellowship not technically counting as a writers room or a tv job

THIS IS A TRICK TO GET YOU TO SCAB

Sharing any written content with a studio (even if they route it through a 3rd party "foundation" or development org or something) IS SCABBING

What you do in regards to the strike is your business, but the WGA has been very clear that anyone who scabs will be BANNED FROM JOINING THE UNION FOR LIFE. That means even if you get hired, that's no health & pension and no union protections for your entire career. This shit is serious

So please please double check and dig into any new submission opportunities you see in the next weeks. Playwrights especially be careful - many studios are finding their writers through play scripts these days so be very careful about how and where your work is being shared

No writing going to the studios means NO WRITING of any kind

(if you see suspicious fellowship stuff being passed around let me know, I'd love to keep an eye on that for my peeps)
