Headcanon: Deidara might have somewhat liked Tobi. Yeah, he’s a dumbass and knows every button to push to piss off the blonde, but there are those slow moments, every once in awhile, when they’re both just quiet. It’s rare, since Tobi never shuts up, but sometimes he’ll trail off and Deidara finds he doesn’t hate the other’s company as much as usual. 

Of course those moments are usually ruined by a stupid comment or such but it’s hard for Deidara to get so horribly irked after a slightly pleasant experience of mutual silence.

There are also times when Tobi actually compliments his art and … they’re more often then Deidara would care to admit to anyone else. And they sound genuine and enthralled by his creations, not like the rest of the Akatsuki whenever he gets on a rant about art. It’s like Tobi appreciates his art, his way of expression and Deidara doesn’t dare think too hard on that.

So he has a soft spot for the guy! It’s not like it means anything … right?
