There's more than this, but the big warning for Daybreak comes in Episode 7. Angelica and The Witch have to go through series of trials to be initiated to the Cheermazons. The first trial is "figuring out what food isn't poisoned." You're going to want to put your computer on mute and look away until that scene is completely over. I would fast forward 5 minutes to be safe, it lasts a pretty long time, and it's fairly overwhelming.

12. a balance between how the church and christianity can help people and support them in finding comfort & how it can be a lil over the top sometimes
13. a statuatory rape offender who actually GOES TO JAIL
14. a mother confronting her pedophile stepdad who statutorily raped/ took advantage of her & stating explicitly that it was wrong & he shouldn’t’ve done it
15. a storyline where the main character decides to have an abortion & it’s talked about realistically, she’s not made fun of or painted as a bad person for it & recognition of the fact that american (or georgia state) abortion laws are controlling and stupid
16. also recognition of the fact that abortion isn’t for everybody and even though one character is against it personally she doesn’t restrict what another character’s choice is at all
17. shows double standards of bullying when i comes to fat vs thin people & how unfair it is that fatphobia is ignored in schools that claim to be ‘anti-bullying’
18. a girl what goes from being unhealthily obsessed w an older guy to accepting him as just her mentor and guider, nothing more
19. an asian girl who doesn’t say the n-word when rapping along to a song b/c even though she’s the comedic villain and intentionally dumb she still understands it’s not her place to do that
20. a lil bit about classism and a character wanting to leave behind being ‘trailer trash’ before almost-accepting that growing up in a trailer park isn’t like… a bad thing

i think my biggest issue with this narrative that the q slur has been universally reclaimed is that it makes cishets feel as though they can use it to refer to us, and are in fact better, more progressive allies for doing so
like it makes me uncomfortable when other lgbt people use that word to refer to me, but that’s nothing compared to hearing it from well-meaning cishets who have been exposed to this idea that it’s like fully reclaimed and more correct and inclusive now, actually, because for me that experience is just being called a slur by my oppressor lol
that’s why things like Queer People and Queer Organizations and Queer Studies and Queer Literature make me uncomfortable! because it’s NOT fully-reclaimed and it’s giving cishets permission to call me a slur that i don’t even feel comfortable with being called by other lgbt people lol
