you know how you can look at a drawing and instantly know if the artist is a monsterfucker - ?
The point of officially naming a pet is not to actually use that name but to have a baseline from which to come up with every conceivable nickname to call them instead.
You bury a seed not because it looks nice in the dirt, but because the limbs that branch out will look nice in the sky
Congrats on contributing to the ancient tumblr tradition of turning shitposts into profound poetry

reading vague posts about some unhinged discourse occurring far from my realm of exposure is like the platonic opposite of "I saw Goody Proctor at the Devil's Sacrament" like damn clearly i was not at the sacrament what the fuck
Jordan Peele winning an Oscar for Get Out should've made him a regular for awards but instead the attitude seems to be "well he has one" or even got him branded a one hit wonder.
Not even just awards voters, I've seen a surprising number of people who just assumed Us or Nope are basically Get Out 2/3 when they're very different films. Looking at someone whose first three films were a psychological horror movie, a slasher, and a epic Western creature feature blockbuster, all 'about' entirely different things, and concluding they have no range and just make the same film over and over is baffling.
Night Vale had some of the BEST one off quotes that would just suckerpunch you in the chest leave you breathless
Like the one that stuck with me was this one:
"when a person dies and no one will miss them, the mourning is assigned to a random human. This is why sometimes you just feel sad."
It's been almost 11 years... It haunts me in a good way
Know what? Tell me YOUR favorite WTNV quote. I wanna know what lingers in people's minds after all this time
“Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is are we living a life that is worth the harm?”
“The past is gone, and cannot harm you anymore. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first and settles in as the gentle present.”
if you didn't listen to welcome to night vale at fourteen you can never truly understand the damage hearing cecil gershwin palmer say "he grinned, and everything about him was perfect, and i fell in love instantly" about carlos in the VERY FIRST EPISODE can do to the human psyche
haha hey i love the blood dripping from your face and the animal rage in your eyes whats your pronouns
the way Garak is often privy to extremely important and sensitive information that could save lives or change interplanetary relations but nobody is going to hear about it unless he is allowed to tell it to Julian over lunch. the man has 1 (one) trusted confidante on ds9 and sisko is just gonna have to boil his beets and wait to hear the state secrets via his most annoying subordinate officer
thinking about how the act of bringing someone back from the dead comes from a desire not just to bring back the dead person but to have things return to the way they were before they died. which is, of course, impossible. if a haunting is an open wound, then resurrection is a knife widening the cut.
Thoughts?
No thanks, I’m trying to cut back
my favorite thing about the danny phantom phandom is that the standard for angst is so fucked up that we end up with fic tags like this
like where else do you get this
In response to GF being in the Pride section on D+

Mermay ft. Viktor
Edit: oh and I forgot to mention that ZENITH by wobuzhidao322 on ao3 really inspired me for this one eheh
Kudos to fanfiction writers for writing about all the trauma and emotional and mental turmoil that the original content creators dont acknowledge when putting characters through hell
This has evolved to one of fanfiction’s major assets in my eyes. To every author that cares enough about the characters in their stories to examine trauma, but also the slow, tedious processes of healing and recovery: your stories mean so much to me and other persons with mental health problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

girl what
i swear to god NOTHING makes me more pissed off then when everyone is like “oouheuehghoughough ough [thing] is so good it’s a classic you’ll love it” and they say it SO OFTEN that you resolve on principle to loathe [thing] with your entire being but when you actually get around to experiencing [thing] it literally IS That Good. physically trembling with rage at the fact that hamlet actually is one of the best plays ever written. DIE
me when shakespeare plays actually DO have modern-day relevance and universal themes:
