toxic codependent familial dynamics this. toxic codependent romances that. what about toxic codependent coworkers. i can’t do my job without this guy here or i’ll kill myself.

If I had to read this then so do you all <3

In case anyone doesn't know, to decant a wine is to take it out of the container it fermented in and pour it into a bottle while sifting out the sediment and detritus that has settled to the bottom over the years that it's been closed.

If this story is true, which is so horribly in character that I have to imagine that it is, then they probably had some needlessly extravagant Rich People wine at this party. I'd ballpark at least a couple hundred per bottle, maybe a couple thousand knowing the kinds of brown-nosing marks that tend to spawn near Elon.

What this means is that he was likely drinking yucky dirty shitty Wine Dregs that were potentially rotting for decades, typically consisting of dead yeast, insoluble rotting grape skins/seeds, and honestly probably a bunch of other shit that you HAVE to filter out before drinking "real" wine.

Fucking idiot.

He's the guy with the most money, by the way.

this is probably the first time i did pixel art UEHUWHUHEH a recreation of a meme i saw but idk how to add the og in without making it sort of discreet

i feel like there is a lot of misinfo going around about fans’ role in the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike…

i see people telling fans on tumblr not to be scabs and not to cross picket lines and not to see media that will be coming out during the strikes… but as far as i know (and i could be wrong of course, i’m not in the industry) — you’re not considered a scab unless you’re part of the striking unions (or you want to join them in the future) and you work during the strike

and “crossing the picket line” specifically means working in the industry for one of the studios during the strike while others are striking. it doesn’t mean watching media, reblogging gifsets, or even just talking about or giving attention to media in general

i’m seeing panic and anxiety from people who are thinking they did something wrong by reblogging a gifset on tumblr dot com and are encouraging others “not to cross the picket line/don’t be a scab!” and like… this is fearmongering and anxiety producing to a lot of people for whom these terms do not apply

in reality until the writers or actors call for a boycott (which they HAVE NOT at the moment), boycotting media or giving it less attention actually is counterproductive to the strike’s goals. multiple authors/actors have said we should be continuing to engage with media in order to show studios that we value the work of writers and actors that studios are trying to eliminate

there also seems to be some confusion about engaging with media while the actors are on strike because *they* aren’t allowed to promote media (by participating in press junkets, promo work etc)… but… reblogging an actor’s likeness on tumblr is not breaking the strike if you yourself are not striking

there’s some nuance to this if you’re a current or aspiring union member but in that case you should be following official guidance from the WGA/SAG-AFTRA and not emotionally loaded posts from tumblr telling you you’re doing something wrong without realizing it

A bit of the confusion also comes from the fact that when strikers are picketing a physical location that sells or provides something directly to the public, they usually don't want the public crossing the picket line. Like, there was a grocery store strike in LA* some years back, and you weren't supposed to go into those stores if you could avoid it. Or that clip that's going around of Fran Drescher's character refusing to enter a struck hotel in The Nanny.

(*Might've been all of California, IDK. The friend I remember telling me about it lives in the LA area.)

In those kinds of situations, customers physically crossing the literal picket line to access the business is seen as expressing approval of the business/disapproval of the strikers, but more importantly, picketers can't necessarily tell whether you're entering the premises as a customer or as a scab. That's why you avoid patronizing a struck business, and why picketers usually give a hard time to anyone going inside.

Strikes on the production end, which is what this is, are somewhat different--like when Kellogg's was on strike a few years ago. Whether the union is producing television shows or boxes of cereal, it may work better for them to have management sitting there watching their inventory dwindle under normal demand with no production. And since members of the public aren't coming to the factory to buy the cereal, there's no concern about scab workers hiding among them.

TL;DR, like everyone's saying, don't boycott until/unless the unions ask us to, but if you're like me and you like to know the reasons behind the instructions you follow, here, have some reasons.

Tumblr is about love in my opinion

No joke I feel like half of the posts I see on this website everyday are about faggots, dykes and trannies. They're all about love and sexuality. Yes even the shitpost one, idc. I feel like we've created this community where the fags trannies and dykes can be very outspoken about themselves, even parts that feel taboo to many people. I think this is beautiful.

"haha very good post Tumblr user catgirlbutthole" look at me. This is a good example. On what other website will a trans woman have this sort of username without getting constant negative attention.

CGI animators should unionize next. normally, their jobs would be too precarious to strike, since studios would replace them without a second thought, but if it's part of this larger general film strike, they might finally have meaningful power to better their working conditions

if CGI animators unionized, it would kill the MCU. straight up. the the entire business model is built on exploiting CGI animators

Just for Clarity, the petition linked is for Production workers in animation - people whose work allows animators to do their job effectively. You should definitely sign, these are the unsung heroes of the animation pipeline and deserve recognition and a fair living wage!

white trans ppl from liberal suburbia in blue states will go on and on about how scary it is to be a trans person right now but the second they encounter a trans person from a red state they’ll be like “ummmmm why would you live in such an uncivilized place lmao maybe you shouldn’t have voted for republicans like if you don’t like how conservative it is then just leave” as if these states aren’t populated by black and brown people who face intense voter suppression and poor people who can’t just up and leave. not to mention the fact that all those articles y’all are sharing about the state of trans safety? those are in our states and we will be the ones who go down first. so instead of laughing at us dumb hicks from your liberal safe haven, consider instead shutting the fuck up and actually doing something to help us. because they’re coming for you next.

no literally this!!!!!!!! queer hicks unite!!!!!!!!!!!

screaming this from the rooftops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“we live in an uncaring universe” yeah dude and I live in an uncaring house. and I shit in an uncaring toilet. but do you touch an uncaring lover? do you comfort an uncaring child? do you guide to sleep each night a cold and uncaring self?
