Blood, sweat, determination, trains.

I make things. Things for games. Sometimes actual games! I've made lots of things for The Elder Scrolls as well. If it's funny and related to games, I've probably made it. Most of the internet is just a regurgitation of what I've done.

Starfield’s character traits being part of your employee resume is funny to me.

"It says here on your personal experience that some random guy constantly follows you around praising the ground you walk on and your parents love you. Would you please tell us why you think this is relevant to a career in car insurance?”

You forget a lot of areas you put in a game after almost six years of working on it (and also when it's got hundreds of hours of content).

I forgot about this area, and how nice it looks.

The system of Thoroughfare is underspatially active and considered one of the more frequently dangerous spots in the galaxy. Settled with the mindset that most ships would want to get through it as fast as possible, a single laneline was constructed between two points. After which, it turned out Thoroughfare was incredibly rich in resources. Now, stations and mining outposts struggle to set up on the side of the highway, and traders who work in Thoroughfare have to learn to surf the lanes, as well as deal with the pirates who happily take advantage of the difficult-to-defend resources.

Still a WIP on the effects but all flyable ships can enter a secondary hypercruise mode when at top speed! After a really long chargeup time you'll accelerate to three times the normal crusing speed, but there's some caveats. You can't use it too close to solar bodies, near storms, or in asteroid fields. And if you hit something while at full steam, you'll take significantly more damage.

Either way, it's great for just cruising down great distances.

I want to have some more explicitly magical elements in the game, since people don’t seem to realize the game about fighting giant storm leviathans is not-so-secretly a space fantasy game.

So, spell circles for engine charging.

The main campaign's now playable to completion, with me having spent a couple weeks going through and testing it all to make sure its broken ass scripting was no longer ass or broken.

Total playtime to complete the main quest (and this is with me rushing through it) was about 11 hours. Note this is just making sure the draft works, the final campaign will obviously need more effects, voice acting, full cutscenes, etc.

I come back to tumblr for the first time in about two years (big mistake, I know), and see you still posting about Underspace. And now cats! Both are very good things. Keep on posting both of those things, they give me dopamine.

Have both at once.

Welcome one and all to our first major update of Q2 2023, and one of our largest updates in some time! In addition to a ton of new options and improvements across the board, the biggest addition with this new demo is ACTUAL models and graphics for interiors. This is just the first pass on these mind you, but we’re proud to finally start showing off to players what they can vaguely expect from stations and planets. Come check it out!

NEW CONTENT & FEATURES

  • Total customization overhaul! All ships that can be flown can now be painted in full, with painting maps implemented for all things.
  • Voice acting for the first campaign mission, the opening, and a small smattering of sidequests and extra lines!
  • Total overhaul of the graphics on Union jumpgates.
  • Fish and ambient fauna can now die!
  • New graphics and looks for party members. In the demo, only Pyrona benefits from this.
  • Total overhaul of station interiors, bringing in final models (though many areas lack details and NPCs). Still, feel free to explore!
  • Shadows! Stations and space gameplay now have shadows. To enable this setting, you must enable shadow lighting in the options menu under graphics -> enable shadow rendering.
  • Total overhaul of engine effects to be shader based, with new animations and effects on them..
  • Photomode can now load color presets via mods.
  • New musical stings when leveling up or completing certain actions.

CHANGES & BUGFIXES

  • Overhaul of controls on photomode, along with more clarity in the UI.
  • Overhaul of options menu for clarity.
  • Total rebalance of guns. Individual weapon lines have more unique stats and lower firing rate guns have had their damaged
  • Tutorial overhaul to better explain to new players how controls work.
  • Added buttons prompts when tutorials are enabled.
  • Overhaul of NPC and player avoidance code. It’s now far more efficient and better at avoiding obstacles.
  • Overhaul to how NPCs process conversations, allowing for more complex conversations.
  • Overhaul of elements in the customization UI, you can now change the light settings and painting is dye based.
  • Rebalance of strafing speeds, as well as fixed issues relating to trying to circle strafe or go from one strafe type to another.
  • Spawned NPCs can now have custom paintjobs. You’ll only really see this right now on Junktech ships, expect changes in the future.
  • Local game map now displays places that have train stations and quests available.
  • Fixed LOD issues on NPC ships.
  • Fixed collider issues on NPC ships.
  • Fixed a few softlocks.
  • Fixed various issues resulting in the game crashing when landing on stations.
  • Fixed UI artifacts and elements not fading when they should.
  • Fixed the inability to buy certain items on stations.
  • Fixed music bugs that would stop the music at certain points.
  • Fixed issues where decal cameras in the customization room wouldn’t work.

Got actual interiors ready for your soul to be drenched in.

I swear the media circus around Starfield is fucking stupid.

Todd Howard could cough on camera and Gamerant would run five articles about how Starfield might have advanced disease and allergy mechanics.

We’ve been promising for some time now that the graphics for planets and stations will be redone.

Did you think us liars? How foolish of you!

It’s all coming together. And this’ll be in the next demo, out this week.

Does your second cat have an eye disease of some sort? I feel like that this discharge from her left eye keeps growing with each new pic

They both have chlamydia, it's treated and they're fine, they just have crusty eyes like the assholes they are.
