This week, GLAAD released the Accelerating Acceptance Report, a survey of 2,032 American adults about their views on different LGBT-related issues. Of this sample, 1,781 participants were non-LGBT.

The results are a great big bummer. Some key stats about the opinions of the non-LGBT Americans surveyed:

  • 50% think “gay people have the same rights as everybody else”
  • 37% think LGBT youth homelessness is not serious
  • 27% think anti-trans violence is not serious
  • 27% are uncomfortable learning a family member is LGBT
  • 29% are uncomfortable seeing a same-sex couple holding hands
  • 26% are uncomfortable seeing an LGBT coworker’s wedding photo

Read the full report here, and get angry about the complacency of the misinformed American population in any way you can.
