From one person with past trauma to everyone else on this site with past trauma: What happened to you was not your fault. How you treat other people now? That is. Part of healing means doing the work to make sure you aren’t behaving badly towards others. That’s the difference between heroes and villains. Villains make others suffer because they did. Heroes draw the line and say, “the suffering ends with me.” Everyone who has suffered trauma has the potential to be a hero or a villain. Be the hero. It’s literally a choice you have the power to make, so make that choice intentionally and make the right one. It’s never too late. And remember: even heroes make mistakes! Healing is not a linear process, including this part!

RE: Missouri Trans Ban
As one of our immediate neighbors, we are appalled by the Missouri Attorney General's decision to ban ALL transitioning, including hormone replacement therapy, for transgender Missourians - including adults.
Even though HRT has been documented for decades to be life-saving and the best treatment for gender dysphoria, transgender adults in Missouri will be cut off from transition services beginning April 27th. All current transgender Missouri residents will have to undergo intense screening to continue their care - and will only be allowed to keep their medication routine if they show ZERO signs of mental illness, including depression, anxiety, autism, and "social media addiction." Missouri AG Andrew Bailey is now also enforcing a three-year waiting period, 18-month psychological assessment, and 15 YEAR medical supervision for anyone able to get past the screening process.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. SHARE THE NEWS AND TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES. Many news outlets that aren't explicitly focused on LGBTQIA+ issues have failed to cover how dangerous this decision is, and we know when anti-transgender organizations see something like this get approved in one state, they'll try to replicate it in others and nationally.
2. SUPPORT PROMO, MO ACLU, AND LAMBDA LEGAL. These are the leading advocacy and legal LGBTQIA+ rights organizations that are already working on legal action.
3. SUPPORT C.A.R.E.
Also known as Carbondale Assembly for Radical Equity, a Southern Illinois-based collaborative on how to best support and assist incoming transgender refugees fleeing their home states for Illinois.

The Attorney General's decision goes into effect April 27th - so you have until then to pick up any prescriptions you have access to. If you are on feminizing HRT, you MAY be able to use this small time window to stockpile your prescriptions until either Bailey's decision is reversed or you are able to find alternate means of getting your medication.
Even AFTER April 27th, you CAN still get your HRT if you are able to cross state lines - Planned Parenthood and other clinics that offer informed consent are creating pop-up sites as an emergency response. Some of these clinics even offer telehealth or virtual appointments - although telehealth soon won't be an option for transmasculine HRT due to the DEA's decision to end telehealth prescriptions. They didn’t kill Jesus because of magic or miracles or whatever, they killed him because he preached dissent to the people; he literally walked in and threw capitalists out of a temple and kicked over the tables of “the money changers.” He told people they had to respect the consent of women or rip out their own eyes if looking at women was too tempting. He treated women who were detested for their professions like the actual real people that they were even when his disciples found it disgusting because he preached community and kindness and actually meant it because he knew that the only way to make real social change is for everyone to work together, no demographic left behind. The Romans killed him because he was an ideological rebel and a political threat to the rich and powerful. I get where you’re coming from but the targeted assassination of a social movement’s leader is really just not comparable to the systematic persecution of women.

Their reasons may be wildly different but it sure is striking when such extremely opposed groups can come together such strong agreement.
Don’t forget, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is real. If you don’t have food and shelter, you’re not going to be spending your time garnering esteem. If you are LGBT in America and you feel like you can’t function right now, it’s not some kind of personal failure on your part. If anything it demonstrates that you are human.

Honestly it’s like the parents who don’t vaccinate because they’d rather have a dead kid than one with autism.
A law school professor who was a defense attorney says never talk to the cops, even if you are innocent, and explains why. Then a cop comes in and affirms all of that and explains how he manipulates people into talking even though it’s best for people if they don’t. Everyone living in America, and everyone planning to visit or move to the USA, needs to watch this video.
The thing about Hogwarts Legacy is this: if allies cannot even sacrifice the enjoyment they get from the game to help protect Jewish and trans lives, then how can we trust you when things get really bad? If you cannot even give up this, how can you expect us to believe you will give up your time and money and energy fighting for us? How can you expect us to believe you will take us into your homes and feed us when we have to hide? If you cannot even do this little to protect us, you will stand idly by as we are killed.
Boycotting this game will not end transphobia or antisemitism. But it shows these communities that there are far more bystanders than allies. And bystanders are just as bad as those who want us dead. When the time comes you will let us die for as little as your own comfort. We know this, this is what you are showing us.
