In honor of the birthday of Popeye, which was yesterday, here are recent photos that I took of my Popeye Classics #63 cover art print. It is available signed and numbered in an edition of 25 and included with the purchase of the comic book here..
day 6! and here you guys see one of the things I’ll be doing differently on weekends; I’m going to try and knock out some fun inventory drawings every Saturday!
my Witcher inventory piece is done!!!
I’ll have prints of this debuting at Otakon in D.C this weekend (^:
Artist: Jeff Easley
GAMMA WORLD 2nd Edition box set cover. 1983.
This is vintage Gamma World. Among the brilliant touches:
• the humanoid on the left had a block of steak knives as a sheath; one is missing
• the rear portion of his breastplate looks like the hood or trunk of a 1960s-era VW or similar car
• despite the scavenged armor and knives, he has a wrist-mounted “power fist” energy weapon
• the pure-strain (?) on the right has license plate arm armor
• his torso armor is the hide of some mutated beast that had both fur and alligator-like scales
• his melee weapon appears to be the head of a shovel lashed to a baseball bat
• his back-up weapon is a household claw hammer
• they’re going up against a massive death-bot
I’ve previously showcased a few of my favourite pop culture and vintage pulp artists, and each weekend I showcase art from more of my favourite artists.
The art of Earl Norem.
