AARON ANTHONY & BEN STARR “The Sting of Death” — Midsomer Murders (21.03)
“are you / going to / save me? or just hold me down? am I / just another thing to kill? am I / anything at all?”
— Yves Olade, from The Miracle Mille; Bloodsport, 2017
I emerge, not lifeless,
lifeful,
still not dead,
despite six months pretending.
Waking up is not always easy;
I slept the sleep of the dead,
wakefulness does not come gently or kindly.
Flowers explode open like fresh fireworks
Streams run wild, chattering and rushing,
Nothing flees from me
My steps are soft.
The sunlight makes me squint
But I do not long for darkness
I do not long for anything at all
I am my own life cycle,
sunset
sunrise.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen as James in Surface (2022) episode eight “See You on the Other Side”
“After I met you, I started dreaming in colors. And that’s saying a lot for someone who’s only known what it feels like to live in the dark.”

If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.
