Okay quick question, I just got my septum pierced and it’s still day one but it looks crooked, like it isn’t settling straight in my nose. I’m visiting family so should I go back and have the piercer look at it immediately or should I wait for it to heal more? If it heals wrong I’ll end up seeing a different piercer though and idk if that matters?
Hi!
Septums can be a bit of a strange piercing when it comes to this sort of thing, and I don't want to generalize too much on a yes or no here.
While "it's just swelling" can often be an excuse used to hide a crooked piercing, initial swelling can sometimes cause septum piercings to appear less than perfectly straight for a few days to a week or so.
That said, if you are concerned about placement, any reputable piercer should have no issue at all with you wanting to stop by and double check - either immediately or after a few days if you choose to give it some time.
They will be best equipped to let you know if they feel as though the piercing may need to be adjusted, or if it just needs a little bit of time to calm down a little.
Best of luck!
