I think my favorite thing to come out of AOS movies is the tender gay romance fic writers invented in their heads between Kirk and Bones about trauma and recovery and vulnerability and learning how to love and be loved and Oh My God They Were Roommates, and the transformative power of deep caring friendship. Just these Novels with love and compassion for the characters dripping from each word; and it's all based on the VAGUE idea that they knew each other during the academy.
