Incredibly disappointing behavior made all the more cynical by it happening just after Pride Month

[Text ID: A collection of four infographics from the ‘Friends of Trevor United’ (@/FriendsOfTrevor) from twitter. The first infographic reads as follows: “The trevor project just announced mass layoffs effective immediately… While our union was in an active bargaining session. Here are the facts” The next three slides give context to the layoffs, and are all titled with 'The Trevor Project is Union Busting’. They read as follows: “At 9:15 am pst, as many of our members and overnight staff were still sleeping, The Trevor Project announced layoffs effective immediately… while our union representatives were in an active bargaining session regarding the terms of these layoffs. Trevor lawyers threatened to proceed with layoffs and withhold severance in order to pressure our representatives into accepting a lesser package. This is bad-faith bargaining and blatant union busting. Our union made every attempt to bargain in good faith. We gave Trevor leadership an opportunity to demonstrate care, compassion, and basic decency in this process, and they refused.” /End ID]

why is “report hate speech” not one of the default options with “report spam” instead of “report sexually explicit material”. i’m not a cop so i don’t care if people post hole & pole but i would love if i didn’t have to explain every time why it’s bad when there are nazis

Fun fact that I learned just yesterday, 9 to 5 was one of the movies affected (delayed?) by the last movie and television actors strike, and to that I say GOOD FOR THEM.

(it lasted for 3 months and 3 days, and one of the major points of contention was profit sharing for home video, then in its infancy. some things never change.)

also there is a documentary about the movement that led to both the song and the movie, originally on PBS, currently showing on Netflix (of all things!)

girl i know i love old boats and they got into accidents all the time and i wouldnt exactly regard an ocean liner as a not horrifying mode of transport but i just remembered we used to have those fucking balloon airships. i dont like planes myself but thank god we started making air transport out of shit that wasnt 100% flammable

domt like that

girl they used to catch fire for no reason and kill everyone

THAT WAS ONE TIME

it happened a few times
