I want to say that with trans folk now being at risk of the fucking death sentence in Florida....
The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.
And on the scarier end of reality....
This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.
And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.
I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

the concern is that Desantis is challenging the supreme court law that mandated that it's cruel and unusual punishment to be put to death for a crime that did not end in the victims death.
Depending how that goes, it could very much open the door for him to write up new death sentences for LGBT ppl in Florida. Along with yes, changing sexual battery to include HRT and drag. He's already pushed through several bills making providing gender affirming care illegal for parents and doctors, and another that would allow the state to remove children being "subjected to" child abuse; trans healthcare

Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.
None of the major news outlets are running it. I had to Google it. Everyone is so distracted by the rest of the nation’s fuckery right now.

hey everyone im genuinely so sorry to do this but to get top surgery i need about 5,000 dollars. i just got out of my appointment with my doctor, im kind of devastated rn. all ive wanted for the last 7 years is to actually get top surgery and ive been denied over and over again because of my blood disorder, so like to get this close and not be able to afford it is really fucking awful. please if you can consider sending me some money, every single dollar will go to getting top surgery and i will delete and stop circulating this post as soon as i have enough to afford it.
