Surfing’s a more profound kind of sport than it looks. When you surf, you learn not to fight the power of nature, even if it gets violent.

Charlie's Crush (Charlie x Female MC)
Summary: Drabbles inspired by @sungoddessra’s theory about Charlie crushing on MC. I wanted to write from Charlie’s perspective for a change and felt like this was a good place to start.
Word Count: ~3900
Note: I tried to put them in chronological order to show progression, but some of the later ones may be misplaced. For future reference when using Charlie’s perspective, do you guys prefer second or third person when referring to MC? Let me know :)
1.
Bill: Welcome back, (Y/N). I know you’re no stranger to dueling after what happened between you and Merula Snyde…
MC: You were there?
Bill: No, my brother Charlie told me. He’s a second-year like you.
“What’s all the commotion about?” Bill asked as a noticeable whispering broke out around the Great Hall.
Charlie looked up from his dinner plate, following Bill’s gaze to the entrance of the Great Hall where (Y/N) was walking with Rowan to their house table. She seemed embarrassed as heads continued swiveling in her direction, clearly not oblivious to the fact that the gossiping was about her. “(Y/N) defended Ben Copper today in the courtyard and beat Merula Snyde in a duel.”
Bill’s mouth fell open. “Did she get in trouble?”
Charlie shook his head. “No. Professor Snape caught them, but luckily Professor Flitwick showed up and defended her. Apparently Merula cast the first spell.”
“That still wasn’t a good idea. You’d think with the reputation her brother left her with she’d want to lie low.”
Charlie’s eyes narrowed in annoyance. “She was just trying to do the right thing. You should have seen how scared Ben was.”
“I know, but dueling isn’t the right way to handle something like that,” Bill insisted, causing Charlie to roll his eyes. Bill’s straight-laced attitude seemed to subside a bit at this because he added, “I’m honestly surprised she beat Merula though considering the Snyde family’s reputation.”
“(Y/N) not only beat Merula, but she also disarmed her,” Charlie said, grinning as he reached for his glass of pumpkin juice on the table. It was possibly the coolest thing he had witnessed so far at Hogwarts.
Bill’s eyebrows shot up the same way Charlie’s had when he saw (Y/N) cast the spell. “What? But you’re not supposed to learn Expelliarmus until next year.”
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go home and have a heart attack.” Pulp Fiction (1994) dir. Quentin Tarantino
