today i had dinner at my favorite little hole in the wall mexican restaurant and as i was leaving i made sure to hold the door for an older lady behind me and as i stood outside getting my uber figured out the lady walked back up to me very nervously and said “you’re gonna think i’m a crazy lady but it was just put upon my spirit to tell you this: you’re god’s favorite” and she continued to apologetically tell me how she doesn’t know what it means but she was compelled to tell me that i’m god’s favorite. basically what im saying is so long suckers
this would’ve been normal portland crazy behavior but i wasn’t in portland and she was just totally normal. except that she couldn’t ignore the voice of god telling her to tell me i’m his favorite

lately i've been feeling like i've hit rock bottom, but everyday it seems there's still a few feet left to go.
#you always see yourself as the main character but protagonists generally pull themselves out of their hole#thats the whole point right. rock bottom gets them to see something they haven't considered and poof they fix it.#what if i see the light. what if i see what i have to do. i see whats wrong and there's a few things i could try to fix it and yet i falter#i don't think i'm strong enough to be the main character. at best i'm the first try hero.#y'know the one who either died trying a while back or whatever and the protagonist learns of this and defeats whatever evil they couldn't#i must be that.#my life isn't interesting enough to be a tragedy#it lacks three act structure
I hope there’s an afterlife so that whoever made this pot 2,000 years ago can brag that their cookware is so good it’s still usable literally millennia later. Something about this object being lost for centuries and then rediscovered, and being put (successfully) to its original purpose again is so pleasing to me.
YOU know that drag performers aren’t usually trans people. *I* know that. Right-wingers don’t. The attacks on drag shows are anti-trans attacks.
Most right wing people do not make any notable distinction between trans people, drag performers, crossdressers, and gender non-conforming people, because to them we are all just people who are dressing up as/acting like the “wrong gender”
This is evidenced by the bill currently making its way through the Texas Legislature that says that any performance with minors in the audience where anyone plays a gender other than the one they were assigned at birth would be illegal. There are no distinctions for type of performance or anything.
People talking about theatre and shakespeare and whatever in the comments in response to this have lost the goddamn plot and missed the point of the OP. Bigots enforcing the law will not be enforcing to the letter of the law. It will be used exclusively against trans people. No law in the USA meant for marginalizing the marginalized has been consistently used against the non-marginalized to the letter of the law. Those that are serious about their politics and supposedly know about the state of carcereal system and law enforcement regime that targets the marginalized and turn them into slave labor cannot and should not seriously believe that these bigots and their enforcers will be arresting drag performers and shakespeare actors using the same standard.
