>To all the self-righteous types who have commented about how “above it all” they are about this issue, let me quote a recent statement by another fan:

"Would you want Captain America, Batman, or James Bond to be replaced by a young upstart who has none of their virtues? Let me re-phrase: do you...

First off - let me correct all of your distortions.  There is no "entitlement" theme here.  That's a concept YOU are shoe-horning into this debate - and - like a politician - you're using the word in a manner intended to stir up all the conditioned resentment all the "dittoheads" have about the word causing them to react in "knee-jerk" fashion and post nasty comments in this section in support of you.  I am a CUSTOMER registering a COMPLAINT about you replacing a SUPERIOR PRODUCT with an INFERIOR PRODUCT.  And we both know that you did it to appeal to the lowest common denominator in order to increase sales. And we both know that that strategy is not working.  You've gotten the point across loud and clear that you're not going to change it so there's no expectation that you will; and I don't think anybody believes that they're "entitled" to any particular form of entertainment. If you want the dollars of the Rider fans you'll correct it and if you don't you won't.  As to what I think I'm doing - I'm organizing all who feel the same way I do to try to get the point across to you because you are more intent on defending your position and getting the applause of a few dittoheads than hearing your customers.  Since dollars are the only thing that count - if we withhold our dollars, maybe you'll get the point.  BTW - as a business owner, I'd have to call what you're doing bad business practice.

As to the link - I don't know what fan-produced Starblazers content has to do with the point I was making. Nor do I think original Japanese anime concepts have anything to do with the point.  Neither are the "Starblazers" under discussion here. We all know the original Japanese content was "Americanized" before broadcast in the US and differs in major ways from the original Japanese ideas.  Of course that doesn't bother you.   I asked how you would feel if Derek Wildstar or Captain Avatar were suddenly replaced with a 14-year-old "idiot" child for newly produced material officially identified as a "Starblazers" reboot. You avoided answering the question.  Saying it wouldn't affect your enjoyment of the original material is just dodging the question.

Your points about Cap, Batman, and Bond are totally disingenuous. Nobody ever seriously believed that Steve Rogers or Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker would never be back - they're A-listers with movies to support them after all. And your point about James Bond is just laughable. Different actors portraying James Bond isn't the same as James Bond being replaced by another agent - especially an "idiot" child.  The point is that none of them have been permanently REPLACED by an "idiot" child (aka an inferior product). And you've made it clear in your posts on this very site that NINO is a REPLACEMENT.  Your dittoheads can scroll back and see for themselves in the highly doubtful possibility that they're actually capable of independent critical thinking.

Your final part about Rider is the most disingenuous of all.  Us Rider fans liked the change/upgrade to the more powerful leadership status. We liked the presence of a Corps of supporting characters. We liked the cosmic non-Earthbound storylines.  We're complaining about you REGRESSING, BASTARDIZING, and otherwise DUMBING-DOWN the concepts. We're complaining about you replacing our favorite character with an annoying "idiot" child.  Do you and all your dittoheads get it now?

And to all the dittoheads, I have one message for you all:  GFY!
