Sam Alexander's adventures as Nova don't seem all that different from Richard Rider's at the same point in his career. Honestly, if you changed the name, he could almost be Ultimate Nova. It would be a less radical departure than the rest of the Ultimate line.
The heart wants what it wants.
I disagree with you; but let's say you're right. So you're perfectly satisfied with covering the same ground that's already been covered way too many times? Why not just read the reprints then? The point is that Nova fans don't want to re-read already covered ground in early Nova and before that in Spiderman and countless other teen superhero coming of age comics. That's laziness on the part of Marvel - not to mention hack writing. Nova fans liked it that Rider CHANGED and MATURED from that to an ultra-powerful bad-ass. Replacing revamped Rider with NINO is a change from new and innovative to overdone teen clichés. I'd be fine with NINO being in the Ultimate line. I don't read or respect that line - so have at it and good riddance.
